Many activities slated for summerfest downof the newly renovated Main Street USA Summerfest invites all who love summer festivals to join in the fun in the heart of Bountiful, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12 and 13. Artists, craftspersons, performers and volunteers who wish to be involved in presenting a community celebration in the center town of Bountiful are encouraged to join in. The festival will offer artists booths, crafts booths, food, a Childrens Art Yard, performances and lots of activities for the whole family. BRYON SAXTON Lakeside Review staff Clint Eastwoods latest effort in the Dirty Harry series, The Dead Pool, is shooting blanks like no other in his successful past. Eastwood, the man who coined the phrase make my day" and promoted the .44 Magnum handgun to Hollywood status, has returned as San Francisco homicide detective Harry Callahan, a cop who knows no bounds other than law and order. This time Callahan is investigating The Dead Pool, a string of murders involving some of San Francisos most prominent citizens. However, this Dirty Harry, of its kind, is missing a number of ingredients that made e the other four films the fifth box-offic- successes. The action in The Dead Pool is much slower paced and the bad guys have no time to develop, making for a who cares ending. Another major flaw in this film is the supporting role Evan C. Kim gives as Callahans newest partner. Remember, all his past partners, may they rest in peace, are just movie memories.
