LDS meetinghouse planned for Roy site ROY Roy City will have a new LDS church constructed at 4800 S. 3700 W. Final approval to begin construction was given by the City Council on Tuesday night. Higgs Alan Thomson Stephen Dredge missionaries LDS Members of the LDS Church in the lakeside have completed or e are beginning service as missionaries. Elder Kenneth Bingham, son of Gary R. and Ann Bingham, has returned from the Brisbon, Australia LDS Mission. He spoke at the Kaysville 13th LDS Ward on Nov. 16. His parents picked him up in Australia. They toured the coasts of Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. Elder Stephen Wade Dredge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse R. Dredge Jr., has been called to serve the Portugal Lisbon Mission. Prior to his Dec. 5 departure for the MTC, Elder Dredge will speak at the Kaysville 1st Ward on Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. Friends are invited to meet with the missionary Nov. 24, 6 to 9 p.m. at his home. A member of the Kaysville 1st Ward, the new missionary is a seminary graduate and an Eagle Scout and is currently employed at FiberVac in Centerville. He is a graduate of Davis High where he was active in track and band. He is the son of Shelba Dredge, Malad, Idaho, and Pearl B. Wade, Kaysville. Alan Thomson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Thomson of Layton, has recently returned from the Hermosillo Mexico Mission of the LDS Church and will report on his mission Sunday, Nov. 24, at 8:30 a.m. at the West Gentile Chapel, 2120 W. Gentile. Friends and family members are invited to attend the service to hear Elder Thomsons mission report. Elder Brent E. Higgs, son of Mf. and Mrs. Allan Higgs, has been called to serve in the Alabama, Bumingham LDS Mission. Prior to his Dec. 12 departure for the Missionary Training Center, Elder Higgs will speak on Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Layton 23rd LDS Ward Chapel (Layton Stake Center) at 60 West Gordon Ave. at 2:45 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to meet with the missionary at his home, 1189 N. 300 E., from 4:30 until 6:30 that evening.
