Clinton Residents To Get Horse Arena In Greenspan Park CHERILYN KAWA Review Correspondent CLINTON Clinton city horse owners will no longer have to travel to Hooper or Syracuse to use riding facilities. The Clinton City council approved a request by a group of local citizens for a rodeo arena in Greenspan Park on a trial basis. However, Nolan Young, city manger, said the arena would not be ready until spring or later. The '200 foot by 300 foot arena will be part of a master development plan of the park. Area resident Jim White told the council that the first phase of the arena would cost approximately $4,000. He said the arena would be and felt that it would be very well used. Young' said he is sold on the benefit of the facility. He said he thought the arena would be an asset and earn its keep. Mayor Dennis Smith encouraged the group to form a riding club in Clinton and start looking at several options for the facility. The group would also require a realistic time line with the planned development of the park. Councilman Dennis Simonsen told the group that others have had the idea for a rodeo and advised the group that they not only needed to initiate it but also promote it.
