The Division of Fish and Game urges Hunt safely all firearm owners to store their firearms safely. Guns should be locked up if possible and ammunition stored separately. Bolt action rifles can be rendered inoperative by removing the bolt and storing it in another location. Make sure that all chambers and magazines are empty before cleaning or storing firearms. Persons 5 years of age are permitted to take pheasants in season, but they must have a valid hunting license and be accompanied while hunting by a person 21 years of age or older. 12-1- Grouse hunt ar Utahs 1970 forest grouse seasons ends at dusk, November 6. The 42 day season for blue and ruffed grouse was 5 days longer than last years 37 day hunt. In 1969, 12,523 hunters spent 24,572 hunter days in pursuit of forest grouse.
