Of special interest to them was a tour of Scotties Castle. They visited many points of interest. Miss Diane Christiansen was honored on her birthday Wednesday evening at a family dinner given by her parents. Others present were Don and Barbara Christiansen and daughter, Cindy, Provo and Carl and Carol Butler and five children of West Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Caccars of Whittier, California visited Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Loveless and family. Open House was held Sunday evening following Sacrament services at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adam in honor of their son, DeLoy, who will leave for a LDS Mission in the near future. A large group of friends and relatives were there to extend greetings. Light refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jackson and family enjoyed a special evening of fun as they met at the home of their daughter, Deona, and her husband, Chad Green, in Salt Lake to roast pine nuts and hold family evening together. Mr. Glen Christiansen and his mother-in-laMrs. Hattie M. Funk, motored to Oasis on Sunday where Mrs. Funk remained with her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Stanworth for a month. They ajje both serving on LDS Missions and it is the third time in two years they have been able to spend a few hours together. They are usually 500 miles apart. Robert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Cowan. Mr. Wayne Bushman, husband of Shirley Dodge Tobler Bushman, was sustained as first counselor in the Nebo Stake Presidency. Mr. Bushman was released from the Nebo Stake High Council He has two sons and five daughters and has resided at West Mountain for the past nine years. Prior to moving to Payson he served for many years as a bishop in Lehi He is the son of John and Effie Bushman of Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sheffield announce the arrival of their eighth child, a baby daughter, born Oct. 13 at the Payson Hospital She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and has five sisters and two brothers. Phone 'H iB Our Fourth Grade Class at the Wilson School went on a fossil hunt Wednesday, We went to Red Point. A October 14. bus took us there. We had to hike up to Red Point from the road. Then we hunted for fossils were all over and the scenery was pretty. There was a lot of cactus too. Everyone in our class found some fossils. Then we came back and made a display. We found brackiopods and some coral We found out that ages past this region was under the sea. Our teacher is Mrs. Peterson and our editors are Margene Tippets and Jeff Carlisle. The room mothers are Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. York; they went with us. Several other men and their wives were in the same hunting party. They went out into the area west of Nephi taking their campers or trailer houses along where they camped while hunting. Mark left the mission home Oct. 15 for Hawaii where he will attend the LDS Church College to learn the Japanese language for 8 weeks. He will then fly to Japan where he will labor in the East Japan Mission for two years. They were overwhelmed by everyones thoughtfulness and it was appreciated very much. A baby boy was born Oct. 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Okelberry at the Utah Valley Hospital Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Okelberry and Mrs. Grace Jasperson. The newcomer has three sisters and a brother waiting at home. Mrs. Birdie Okelberry and Mr. Stanley Tietjen were released last Wednesday from the Payson Hospital and are recuperating at their homes. Daryl Finch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Finch returned home last Wednesday after being discharged from the U.S, Navy. Paul Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Cook, is home on leave from Fort Binning, George until the 25th of Nov. He will report to Fort Lewis, Washington prior to assignment to Vietnam. National School Lunch Week observed Approximately 8,300 lunches were served each day during National School Lunch Week to students and patrons in the schools of Nebo School District, according to Loa Johnson, School Lunch Supervisor. We were excited to know that what we looked at were the things made and used by Indians who roamed around where we work and play every day. Our teacher is Mrs. Wride. Democrats converge on Payson The Utah County Democratic Candidates converged on Payson, Oct. 15 and 16. They visited the business district, then went in every voting district. They attended the football game between Payson and Spanish Fork and thoroughly enjoyed the game. Those present were her sisters, Mrs. Emma Peart and Mrs. Thelma Smith, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Devon Roberts and Mrs. Ann Roberts, Lehi; Ruth Stevens, Payson; Juanita Jensen, Genola; Mrs. Doris Jensen, Payson; and Mrs. Ella Sandstrom, Eureka.
