Add 1 teaspoon soda and cool. Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Sift dry to ingredients and spices together and add creamed mixture. Blend and add raisins and liquid Drop onto greased sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until 1 1 golden brown. The following casserole is a favorite main dish at the Carlisle home because as Maxine says, You can have the ingredients on hand and fix it in a hurry." It Is nourishing as well as appealing in flavor. This recipe has been used on Work Day at Relief Society a number of ' times. HAMBURGER RICE CASSEROLE 1 pound hamburger 2 chopped onions 1 can creamed chicken soup 1 can creamed mushroom soup 1 small can Chinese Noodles Miss Sara Jane Clayson Engagement & wedding plans revealed Mr. and Mrs. Vern H. This was our Poppy Day and she encouraged everyone to buy a poppy from the Payson American Legion Auxiliary or Junior Auxiliary. This was a wonderful opportunity to let Utah County know what the poppy stands for. and Miss Patty Ellsworth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elman K. Ellsworth of 1035 So. 1500 East, Salt Lake City, Ut., is serving as a hostess aboard Trans World Airlines new Boeing 747s flying between New York and San Francisco. Patty was chosen as one of the select group of hostesses to first serve on the spacious, double deck 747, the fastest jetliner in service. On Saturday May 23, she was out selling Poppies on Poppy Day. This has been a choice experience for her as she has come to know many of the club presidents and the leaders of the town. Congratulations Connie for a job well Miss Poppy" Connie Madson selling a poppy to Sue Ann Gasser, a friend at Script chosen James William Greenhalgh 80th birthday James William Greenhalgh of Santaquin celebrated his 80th birthday on May 29th, when his wife, Ida Tew Greenhalgh and members of the family gathered for the event. He was born May 29, 1890, at Santaquin. Mr. Greenhalgh is currently caretaker and supervisor of the church-owne- d orchard at Santaquin, and continues to be active in many ways. He has served as a member of the Santaquin First Ward bishopric and as a stake missionary. He and his wife are now serving on a temple mission at Manti. Mr. and Mrs. Greenhalgh are parents of eight living sons and daughters as follows: Elden Greenhalgh, Mrs. Gaylen (Marie) Petersen, both of Santaquin; LaVon Greenhalgh, Midvale; Lowell Greenhalgh, San Diego, Calif. Mrs. Roe (Teressa) Wilde, Mrs. Blaine (Colleen) Wilson, Pay-so- n; Mrs. R. N. (Doroth) Moore, Spring Lake; Mrs. Earl (Darlene) Fowkes, Mona. They have 35 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. EAT BEEF The delightful, whimsical, Carnival, has been chosen for the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Musical. Carnival is one of the tender love stories that has been an American favorite for many years. The show will be presented in the high school auditorium on the evenings of Tuesday, July 21, Wednesday July 22, Saturday, July 25 at 8 p.m. and Friday, July 24 at 2 p.m. Major roles are to be played by Tlier-ess- a Robertson, Gary Clark, Jeff Bellows, Paula Simons, Dennis Rosenbaum, Don Cole, Richard Beagley and many others.
