Their theme will be Giant Steps for Mankind. A string ensemble will play the Processional, March by Mendelssohn and the invocation will be offered by Rebecca Cannon. The Address of Welcome will be given by Jens Horn, Senior Class President. The choir will sing, Waters Ripple and Flow and Glade Peterson will give a talk on De Ann Davis will use Spirituality. Peter Pan to be presented by community The Payson Community Theatre is proud to announce their plans for the summer season. -- Reid Burr Wayman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig W. Wayman of Payson, has received an appointment to the West Point Academy. Class of 1974. Reid is a student at the Payson High School where-h- e received a certificate of merit in chemistry and also represented the field of science as aSterlingSchol-a- r candidate. He was also a member of the Payson High School football team last season. Mr. Wayman will enter West Point in July. His appointment came through the recommendation of Congressman Laurence J. Burton. Reid wishes to express his appreciation to the faculty and counselors at the Pay-so- n High School for the support they have given him. Employment news Mr. LaRue Thurston of the Employment Security Office announces that the sub office is open in Spanish Fork. It is located in the National Guard Amory building in Spanish Fork. The manager this year will be Clem Allen. Office clerk is Gloria Nelson. 2. number is Hours Telephone are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The basic reason for the office to be open in Spanish Fork is to provide additional service in South Utah County, states Mr. Thurston. adventure. 465-90- Ths past week at the Public Library, several school classes were taken through the Junior Library. The children were delighted at the thought of becoming registered borrowers. New shelf space has been added. New books are on many of the shelves for their use this summer. The librarian told them how to obtain a Library card, and how to care for books. She also told them about the story hour which is held in the summer months, and to watch for the time and day to be announced later. As the children left, they were each given a consent card to be filled out by parents giving them permission to check out books. A treat was given to each of them as they left. The girls were chosen from a group of fourteen who were vieing for the title. ioundl lommenfs The Payson Third Year Seminary Students will hold their graduation exercises May 21, 1970 at 8:00 p.m. in theSanta-quin-Tint- ic Stake Center. Their theme is Be Loyal to the Royal Within You. Angie Kenison will play the prelude and postlude music and a chorus will sing, Live Life in a Sweet Way, under the direction of Jean Christensen and accompanied by Wendy Wilson. Invocation will be offered by Brian Peterson. The address of welcome will be given by Tim Lafferty and a talk will be given by Joe Quigley. A quartet, Susan Ware, Callie Morgan, Carolyn Davis and Karen Throckmorton, will sing, We Believe, accompanied by DeAnn Davis. Janet Hiatt will give a talk and a poem will be given by Gary Brimhall. Testimonies by the graduates will be heard and Garth Nelson will play a trumjiet solo. After the presentation of the graduates by Lars M. Bishop, the awarding of dijdomas and a message will be given by President Max E. Nelson and President Reed J. Money. Background music will be furnished by Sharon Heelis. Introduction of class members will be by Ronald Hall. The congreand gation will sing, O My Father, benediction will be given by Keith Nay. The Seminary Board of Education includes Reed J. Money, chairman; and members Max E. Nelson, Harold Harmer, Caroll Davis, LeRoy A. Hill, Calude t. Cowan. The girls were presented by number on a beautifully decorated stage. They walked down steps and down the aisle to the four judges who were seated at a table. Willard DeGraffenreid acted as Master of Ceremonies and he gave a brief sketch of each contestants abilities and achievements. The theme song You Are Beautiful, was sung by Larry Steele; invocation was by Heber Dale Butler. Escorts were Tom Peay and Dennis Wall. Organ prelude music will be played by Gwen Moore and the opening song by the congregation and graduates will be, We Thank Thee O God, For a Prophet, under the direction of Joy Lynn Moore and accompanied by Gwen Moore. The invocation will be offered by Robert Porter. A scrijiture will be given by will be Kenneth Shaw and a Thought given by Betty Gay. Salutatory, Russell Jones. G. Osmond Dunford will present the graduates and a message to the graduates and awarding of diplomas will be by President Reed J. Money. Introduction of graduates, Dale Z. Kirby. There will be a dramatic presentation with Kevin Adams and JLynn Thomas as readers. Actors are, in order of appearance, Rebecca Cannon, Steve Olsen, Darlene Hendrickson, Elaine Thompson, Mike Openshaw, Kathleen Clements and Duane Menlove. Jenkins and Arthurella Daley Jenkins, Reno, Nev., fo.merly of Payson, hasbeen caUed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to serve a two-yemission in France. Miss Jenkins began her schooling in Payson, going from First through Sixth grades here. Later the family moved to Reno, where she attended public schools and was graduated from Reno High School. She is a Licensed Practical nurse, having received her training through the Veterans Hospital in Reno. She reported to the Mission Home in Salt Lake City on May 16 and then enrolled th in a extensive language course at Brigham Young University, which she will complete before going to France. She is a granddaughter of the late Arthur and Ella Hancock Daley of Payson and is the first girl in the family to go on a mission. ar two-mon- in the Industrial League. Representatives from the Springville Art Days celebration for 1970 met and extended an invitation to the mayor and council to attend the 1970 Art Days celebration June 11, 12 and 13. Davis, Dee Ann Susan Payson Chamber of Commerce President, Roy Celia, announced completion of plans for a chamber dinner Thursday, May 21st at the Maple Dell Lodge in Payson Canyon. Governor Calvin Rampton has indicated he will be in attendance, as will Lee Jorgenson, head of the Utah Travel Council. The Travel Council will be doing some photographic work in the Payson area with the intention of including Payson in the forthcoming Utah State Travel Brochures. Governor Rampton will be visiting Payson to view first hand the scenic beauty of the area. Roy Broadbent, Chairman of the Core Committee will introduce John Call and his associate Ab Christensen who will present preliminary designs and plans for the downtown development. This will be a working meeting and members of the chamber will meet for the first time as a group since the installation banqut in January.
