The Hardys focused their talks on the man and wife relationship. Dr. Hardy listed three things that he said were needed to produce a great marital relationship -the romantic spark, common interests, values, activities and areas of agreement, and ways of resolving differences. He said that it is normal for two people to have disagreements and tensions and some ill feelings. Too many people assume ahead of time that when they have these differences, it is bad. But as Mf. Hardy said, it is bad only when they fail to learn to deal with these differences. He said if marriage is going to be successful, a husband and wife have got to learn to do that which is best for them -that which works for them. And they will never know what this is unless they have either tried it out, or they sit down and talk it out and agree about it. Mrs. Hardy, when she spoke, said that from the time that she was first married through the raising of seven children, she had tried to keep her three main goals, and to keep them in their proper order -first to be a wife, then a mother, and then a homemaker. She also stressed that if you want to do something badly enough, you can do it. 1 I : 1 n 1 330 SOUTH MAIN - SUPER a j li. -- Max Depew, Payson.
