Show West Mountain Views Spring Lake Events Icnon A recent Huiih Rhone weekend guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George LeFevre was her mother, Mrs. Beatrice Y. Moore. Mr. and Mrs. LeFevre went to the rest home where she resides to get her Friday afternoon. They took her back Sunday afternoon. A Fisher where places were arranged at the table for 17 family members. Coming to have turkey dinner with all the trimmings were Mr. and Mrs. Don Fisher and four children from Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Quintin Elder and seven children from Provo. The group enjoyed the dinner and visiting with each other. Miss Peggy Knapp left Thursday morning from the Salt Lake airport to fly to Houston, Texas where she will visit with friends for a while. Her mother took her to the airport to see her off. Mrs. Cecil S. Peery enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Don Spainhower, and family of Bountiful. Mrs. Vola Butler accompanied her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels of Payson to Murray on Sunday where she visited with her sister, Clara, and brother-in-laGeorge Barnett, Sunday and Monday while Mr. and Mrs. Daniels went on to Kaysville to visit w, with very happy Thanksgiving day was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Mrs. Elaine Brereton and her sister, Mrs. Janie West from Salina enjoyed a four day trip to Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. West recently moved to Salina from Sacramento to make her home. They went there on business. relatives. Mrs. Armond (Ruth Ann) Gunderson from Calif, arrived at the Salt Lake Airport Monday night, Nov. 17. Her brother, Max Menlove, met the plane and brought her to Payson. She came to be with her mother, Mrs. Rhea Menlove, who was a patient in the Payson City Hospital. Mrs. Menlove was taken to the hospital Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lyman motored to Salt Lake on Saturday. They called at the hospital to visit with her sister, Reta, Mrs. Blaine Gailey, who had undergone surgery recently. They also visited with an aunt at Kearns, Mrs. Blanch Deuel, whose husband, George Rile Deuel, died Nov. 21 in a Salt Lake Hospital Pat Miller had a pleasant time when she accompanied the Payson Jr. High School Band to Salt Lake City on Saturday to march in the Christmas parade. She was one of the baton twirlers marching in front of the band. Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Butler were guests for a festive Thanksgiving dinner at the home of her sister, Evelyn, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bigler, at Payson. The table was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The centerpiece, an arrangement of candles surrounded by sprays of bright red berries, gave the table setting a very festive appearance. Place- were set for Mrs. Pearl Bigler, Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Twede, Mrs. Maria Glahn, Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Butler, Scott Bigler and the host couple. They all enjoyed the turkey dinner and family association. Mr. and Mrs. Art Arnold and four children from Layton who had attended a Thanksgiving dinner at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Manfred Arnold, at Salem with members of his family called at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Butler for a visit before returning to their home. Miss LaRae Butler from Kearns and her sister, Mrs. DartheHa Cook, from Goshen visited at the home of their sister, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cowan, Thursday. They also visited for a while with their uncle, Ray Huish, and aunt, Lenora Huish. Miss Butler was a guest for Thanksgiving dinner at the home of her sister at Goshen before coming to visit with the Cowans. Family members who gathered at the of Mr. and Mrs. George LeFevre for a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving day were their daughters and son with their families. Present were Mrs. LeeHofeling (Shirla Dean) and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Monte Wilson and four children from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd LeFevre and the host couple. home Thanksgiving! - A day to remember-Thanksgivi- ng with its traditional turkey dinner provided the occasion for many family gatherings, for a day of feasting, visiting and giving thanks for the many opportunities and blessings all of us enjoy. The Primary children carried out the spirit of Thanksgiving, If you want to be happy on Thanksgiving day, give something away, when the children in each class with their teacher took some items of food to one or more of the Senior Citizens of the ward or prepared a program of poems and songs which they gave at the homes they visited on Wednesday after Primary. One Thanksgiving took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cowan when their daughters and sons and their families enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner together. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cowan an(l three children from Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Johan Van Zeben and four children, Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Searle and three children, Salem; Michael Cowan and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cowan. After dinner Mr. and Mrs. Van Zeben and family left for Calif, where their son, Kevin, played in a football game at Culver City. Kevin is a member of a Granger little league football team. This will make the third year they have had a game with a team there. The Van Zeben family returned home on Sunday. Mrs. Margie Smith Beckstrom spent a very happy week in Hawaii with her husband. Van L. Beckstrom, who was there on a rest furlough from Vietnam. She left Tuesday morning, Nov. 25, from Rkon Mrs. Ruby Meredith 45-263- 8 the Salt Lake Airport. They were happy to spend Thanksgiving day together. Mrs. Beckstrom returned home when her husbands leave was over. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Brereton and members of their family enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Roberts, and family at Spanish Fork. Others present in addition to those mentioned above were Sheri Brereton, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Brereton and baby, Dena Brereton. Mr. and Mrs.. .McKinley Cook were guests of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Myrup and family at Provo for Thanksgiving dinner. Guests for a Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Menlove were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olsen, from Ephriam and other members of her family. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Deuel joined with other members of their family at the home of a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hone, at Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Vincent and children from here were also present. Mrs. Deuels mother, Mrs. Beatrice Y. Moore from Orem, also enjoyed the dinner and being with the grandchildren. The members of the Spring Lake Ward Elders Quorum with their wives held a party Friday night in the Ward Cultural Hall. The party was planned by a social Thanksgiving guests at the home of Mr. Mrs. Richard Adams were; their daughter and family, Sunda and Don Rosen-l- of and children Terri and Criss of Orem; a daughter Nancy and Vern Payne and baby Nannette of Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shepherd, Mrs. Adams parents of Springville and the Adams five sons DeLoy, Kevin, Brad, Randy and Kelly. Saturday very dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. Don Eitner and family of Chino, Calif., enjoyed an after Thanksgiving dinner at the Adams home. They were enroute home after spending the holiday in Salt Lake. Fork; her daughters Mary Ellis Peterson and husband Dallis and family of Provo and Suzanne Leyva and husband Jaun and baby of Payson and Clyde and Keith Nay. It was a special day on Thursday for the Nay family as their mother, Mrs. Iva Nay, hosted a dinner at her home and welcomed her brother and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor and three children of Delta, her sons Gardello and his family of Orem and Earl and his family of Spanish and Mr. and Mrs. Don Rowley and daughters Brenda and Loretta and son Robert and Mrs. Rowleys mother Mrs. Stella Forsey of Payson motored to Kansas City, Mo. where they enjoyed Thanksgiving with their daughter Nedra and her husband Rodney Grover. They returned home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Meredith were hosts at a lovely holiday dinner on Thurs. Guests present were Mrs. Hattie Schramm Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Payson, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jacklin and daughter Shirrell of American Fork, Mrs. Ruby Meredith and the three Meredith children Scott, Carrie and, Brent. In the evening Mr. and Mrs.' John Jackson of Dayton, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Monte Sperry of Mona enjoyed reminiscing together. Family members assembled at the home of Noble and Ardell DeHart on Thurs. to enjoy the Harvest Day celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Kerney Greenwall and son Peter and Mr. Peter DeHart of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. David Braodbent and baby of Payson and the DeHart family. Sympathy is extended to Dale and Joyce Jackson and their five children of Spanish Fork in the death of Mrs. Jacksons mother Mrs. Alonzo (Maud) Seely of Provo. The Jacksons are former West Mountain residents. The home of Pres, and Mrs. LeRoy Hill was a place of happiness and fun Thanksgiving day as members met to visit and partake of dinner together. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cornaby and daughter Paula of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anderson and two daughters Rachelle and Kristin of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Moffet of Provo; Valorie Cornaby and Mr. Gene McFarland of Ohio, students at the BYU; Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson of Spanish Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Hill of San Jose, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hill of Payson; Mrs. Zella Lunt of Salt Lake; Mr. Mack Cornaby of Salt Lake and Joyce Hill also committee with Louis Peterson as chairman. The group enjoyed a spagetti supper topped off with pie and homemade ice cream. They played games for a while after supper. A group of 32 enjoyed the evening. An overnight guest at the George LeFevre home Tuesday night was Mr. LeFevres brother, Clifford LeFevre, from Panguitch. He also visited there most of Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Brereton spent a pleasant day together Friday when they motored to Salt Lake City on business. They enjoyed the drive and went out to dinner. Sheri Brereton and Emma Walker enjoyed roller skating Friday night at Park Ro She at Springville. Mrs. Vola Butler visited at the home of day. She stayed overnight with them Thursday evening. They were invited to the home of Mrs. DarreU Butlers sister, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hansen, for Thanksgiving. There was a group of 30 family members enjoying dinner together. Mrs. Vola Butler was happy with a visit from her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Moore who stayed with her Friday night. They were returning home from a two week vacation to Hawaii where they met and visited with friends they knew when they lived there while he was in the Navy. They returned to their home at Kaysville Saturday morning. The home of Alva J. Moore was filled with the Thanksgiving spirit when their son, Gordon, his wife and two children arrived from Denver to spend the week. Gordon is a meat grader for the government and travels extensively but they are now settled in Denver. Thanksgiving dinner was held on Saturday with all the family home. Present were Kayleen and Robert Beebe and daughter, Linda Kay; TerriU and Norma Moore, all Salt Lake City; and the Gordon Pay family from Nephi. Saturday was also the birthday of their daughter, Joy Lynn. They all enjoyed a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rowley and family motored to Salt Lake on Thursday where they enjoyed the holiday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Bennion and other members of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erekson and baby of Billings, Montana visited Tues. with his brother Harold Erekson and his wife Vilda. They were enroute to Manti where they were to attend a wedding. They are the parents of eight children of their own and were very proud to introduce their new adopted baby. They also are very proud of another child (adopted) that is one year of age. Special guests at the Erekson home for Thanksgiving was Emma Burr and son Ricky of Michigan. Mrs. Burr is a BYU student. A specially nice Thanksgiving Day was had by the Gary DeLeeurv family as they introduced their lovely tiny new daughter to their relatives. The new baby was born Nov. 13 on her fathers birthday, at the Utah Valley Hospital. She weighed in at 7 lbs. and has two brothers and one sister. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeLeeurv of Provo and maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold 0. Nelson of Mancos, Colo. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. DeLeeurv for Thanksgiving were Mr. and Mrs. Harold O. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Cary Bailey and son of Delores, Colo.; Miss Sharon Bone of Rexburg, Idaho and Mrs. Delores Dean of Mancos, Colo.
