However, with the many games, and the variety of time, you can readily see that no human being could possibly cover every game. Therefore, a request is sent out to each manager and coach, to please call in or drop by with your scores, and any other comment you feel would be of interest for the paper. Every effort will be made to include pertinent items, and give coverage to each team. But we will need your help. OanvaA Waui Of v about an f70 Olie I How cover for patio? Three teams from Payson are in the league along with teams representing Santaquin, Nephi and Goshen. Pony League southern division tournament will be held in Payson during the first week of August. This will bring 16 teams, their managers, coaches, parents, and friends to Payson, to compete. Teams from American Fork on the north to Moab on the south will be here for1 the Southern Division Title? Surely it is not too early to commence plans for some kind of event for this occasion. Last year State Little League tournament was held, and except for those directly involved, it could have been cancelled and no one would have known the difference. Many people will be coming to Payson from various communities in Southern Utah. This should be an occasion for Payson to put out the Red Carpet for those involved. Why not have a city night of the tournament ... Swimming, a barbeque at the park, and an evening of entertainment by the summer school band might be a good start, as well as merchants putting up signs welcoming the teams. Even having a program that could be sold by local league members, listing the players, and with adequate advertising to cover the cost, so the sale price would be all pro- fit for our teams. Certainly it wasnt done 100 years ago, but then these boys will be arriving in cars, and not on foot or oxcarts.
