"My life time dream has been in helping others, and if the small part I play helps to make some one well, this gives me great happiness. These are the words of Mrs. Lofgran of Payson City Hospital the one that invited me in to see the many flowers first hand. Mrs. Loveless was the one who lovingly explained the flowers to me. I hope that this clears up the misunderstanding that many people Was, may have experienced in reading my column. It was just a mistake that this paragraph was omitted. Please excuse it. I received a call from Madoline Dixon regarding the above mentioned article and She was gracious enough to furnish me with her own views on Mrs. Loveless and her floral shop. She grew up next door to the Loveless and knew them a great (teal better than I, so I was happy to include her summary in my column today. Thank you very much, Madoline, for your, . interest. Here is her summary in its entirety: : Dear Thelma: ' It was Ann J. Loveless, not her good husband, Justin A. Loveless, who developed the hothouse and floral business in Payfcon. She had the cooperation and backing of her husband and also the aid of their sans Glenn, Wayne and Willis, but it was she Who was the head of the business. t Her husband was a remarkable man, but he had his work "at the office" on , Main Street, where he carried on his work as Justice of the Peace and Notary Public, and what not. He made out irrigation water tickets. He owned and operated a farm and manufactured horse collars. He was bishop of the Payson First Ward and Mayor of Payson. Mrs. Loveless was wife and a mother to two daughters and three sons, but she was. of a nature to want to do more than this. She was ahead of her times in that she Wanted to bring extra income into her home, as many women of today are wantingt. to do. Women of the 1916-19era loved the accordion pleating in skirts that touched the ankle and in trim on neck and sleeves. ' Mrs. Loveless purchased equipment for ' setting fabric into pleats and then followed through by placing the packed cloth on a wash tub Allied with steaming water over a coal stoVe in her kitchen. After cooling, the fabric was taken fronl the heavy paper folds and milady picked it up at her door ! td make into lovely dresses and suits. Ann Loveless was a woman who lived by the creed that "I can do anything she can"1 meaning any other woman she knew. Last week, one paragraph was Inadvertently omitted in my column regarding the Payson Floral Shop. It was one I had devoted entirely to Mrs. Ann Loveless, mother. The way the Wajme Loveless article appeared it gave one the impression that Mr. Justin Loveless was the operator of this old establishment. The troth of the matter is that Mr. Justin Loveless was much too busy in his civic A Galverton. seven years.
