I have never seen people give so many flowers to their mothers before. It seems to me that every year, the flowers seem to get bigger, brighter and lovelier. Id like to bet that Mr. Loveless of the Payson Floral was pretty darned exhausted after making all of those beautiful arrangements, wouldnt you? I am also willing to bet that his wife was pretty tired, too. Mr. Loveless and his wife, the former Madelyn Wilson, have been in the floral business for umpteen years and they are still going strong. We stopped in at the floral shop the day before Mothers Day, and he was almost out of flowers then. We wanted to send Mom one dozen red roses and had to settle for one pink rose in a ' vase. Thats what we got for not ordering ahead. I should have known better than to expect to go in at the last minute to order flowers, but sometimes, when you are very busy, you dont think too well! Mom was very pleased with the one pipk rose, but she is just that way and I think that is very typical of most mothers, dont you? Of course, we had something else for her, too. Mrs. Loveless first started in business with his father and brother, Glenn, who have since passed on. Their family home was located just north of the Roy Rodgers home on First South and Third East Street. I can vividly remember when I was just a small child, I wandered down to the hot house, as a floral shop was called in those days and was peeking in at the lovely flowers, when Mr. Justin Loveless, Waynes father, came out and asked me if I would like to come inside and get a first hand look at the flowers. I was tickled pink, to think that they would take that much interest in a small child. Mr. Loveless took me by the hand and led me all around the many isles of dozensofbeautiful flowers, explaining all about each one individually. He told me how he planted them, watered them and how much enjoyment he got out of picking them to fill his many orders. Ill never forget how humid it was in that hot house: I thought that I couldnt get my breath. Mr. Loveless laughed and said that you get used to it, but I can now remember that I wondered how! Mr. Justin Loveless was also justice of the peace, mayor and bishop and was very prominent in civic affairs. His son, Glenn, was mostly in the real estatebusiness and NOTICE OF SALE 50439 SHERIFFS In the District Courts of the Fourth Judicial District, in and for the County of Utah, State of had a great civic pride, also. They are now gone, but not forgotten. Mr. Wayne Loveless has always lovd the floral business and has carried on the work that his father started and has done a marvelous job of it, I think. I understand that he has flowers shipped in from several different places, such as faraway Hawaii. The Payson IToral shop also has a lovely gift shop and you have many, many very beautiful ornaments, vases and arrangements to choose from. They also used to do arranging to your own specifications, too, and I imagine that they still do. I should have asked, I guess, but I didnt, so maybe you could do that yourself, when you go in to visit their shop. Id like to have a dollar for every corsage that they have made throughout the years. Id be rich and wouldnt have to do this column! Ha! iHa! Oh well, I beleive, in the long run, Im just as well off as I am right now! The Payson Floral Shop is open from 8 in the morning until about 6 in the evening. It is not open Sunday, but Mr. Loveless has been known to make special arrangements to accomodate people. Hes like that. Dont forget this floral shop when you go to order the corsages for graduation and especially you kids, for your wedding. He does simple beautiful flower arrangements of all kinds. I just know that you will be well pleased with flowers done by Wayne and Madelyn. Give them a call.
