Mr. Davis died Friday, May 9, 1969, at the Payson City Hospital following a heart attack. Mr. Davis was born Nov. 8, 1913, in Eureka, a son of Charles W. and Elenor Thomas Davis. He married Ora Hendrickson on Jan. 18, 1932, in Provo. He was a member of the LDS Church. Mr. Davis had been formerly employed at the Tintic Standard Mine in Eureka for a number of years. At the time of his death he was working as yardmaster at Geneva Steel Company. Survivors include his widow of Santaquin one daughter and four sons, Larry C. Davis Henderson, Nev. Their limited information is not sufficient to determine whether they will accept the city proposal to take over the maintenance and operation of the water. They suggested that they be allowed to go over the city books with Recorder Edward H. Bates, and that if a study proves the increase to be excessively high, as they believe, they should get a refund on next years assessment. The matter is still under study by the City Council. Lawrence Ewell received official permission from the council to purchase a public address speaker for use at the Golf Course at a cost of $130 installed. Improvement of the swimming pool at Memorial Park was discussed by Howard Riley, who stated that at a cost of $500 workmen will install a cement bullnose on the scum gutter with one row of tile and further repair damages caused through frost and other weather elements. He stated that the interior of the pool sides and floor are in fair condition, needing only a good buffing with a wire buffer and a coat of paint.
