It was stimulating to see so many worthwhile suggestions presented to the Supervisory Council, most of which will be implemented into the total program of patient care. The award this month was presented to Mrs. Lena Christensen, Central Supply Supervisor, for her idea. She suggested that the Utah State Retirement Benefit System, covering all benefits, be explained to all hospital personnel. Although this suggestion does not necessarily involve the factor of betterment of patient care or the hospital as a whole, it seemed so very vital that each employee realize what their benefits are, so this suggestion was chosen as the winner this month. Mrs. Christensen was presented, as her award, tickets for an evening of bowling with refreshments for two. Our congratulations go to Mrs. Christensen and to the rest of the employees who submitted ideas which, aid in giving thanks to their better patient care to those who come to the Payson City Hospital. sound-thinkin- Also Sat. She is well qualified to teach this course and we feel of the community PAYSON Thursday, April 17, 1969 Dietary classes bers THE Children playing with matches, an age-ol- d formula, started a fire at the Nebo Stake Welfare Dairy Farm on South Highway 91 last Friday afternoon. The fire was contained by the Payson Fire Department and did not spread farther than a stack of hay and a stack of straw. Ronald Eggett, manager, said much of the hay was old and would have been disposed of at a reduced price. He said the three or four ton of hay would have brought about $100, He said ten ton of straw was destroyed but he could not estimate a price on the straw because he has not sold any and did not at the time know the price it was going at. Mr. Eggett said his wife was driving into the lot just as the fire started and she called the fire department. The firemen responed with three trucks and the city sent a piece of equipment to scatter the hay and straw and make it burn itself out faster. Continued from front page the start of his oration. WAR BROUGHT PEACE Trusting God, defending man. On Concord green they made their stand. In their hearts' there burned a fire; They fought as one - with one desire. They must be free or all was lost; They must be free at any cost. They suffered long and paid the price; They won our land through sacrifice. And even when the war was done, Side by side they worked as one. They built our land with dignity, Assuring mans equality. They gave their all for liberty, Til freedom reigned in majesty. And still she rules with regal pride, Endowed, preserved and sanctified. Herein, my friend, there lies our creed-W- e cannot rest till all are freed; Til every man erectly stands, With praise for God and love of land. Gefrfdm... Express thanks Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McClellan of 491 North 500 East Street wish to express their appreciation to Owen Elmer and his crew from the Payson City Road Department for their recent aid. A portion of an old septic tank was exposed by old timbers that hid a huge tank below the surface of the ground. The men filled the tank with several tons of soil. The McClellans small son sank to his neck in the exposure and a near tragedy was averted by the aid of Mr. Elmer when he responded to their need. g, Bill Republican confab HORROR SHOW Fri Night APRIL 18 at 11:15 p.m. a Conquers tneWorld N D See the Patterned Carpets Top Decorators Choose Youll Agree their Beauty Belongs in your Home A Monsanto Following is a list of the Republican County Organization Conventions to be held during the month of April, 1969. Utah April 19, 7 p.m Spanish Fork High, 99 North 3rd West. The purpoe of the conventions is to reorganize the County Executive Committees, elect County Central Committees, and choose delegates to attend the Republican State Convention. It is at these conventions that we select the people who will direct the affairs of the Republican Party in the counties throughout the state for the next two years. The conventions are extremely important to the Republican Party. We must organize well from the grass roots up and do an even better job than we have done in our past two successful elections.
