Kay The'Sait Lake' Temple was the setting Friday, March 7, 1969, for the wedding of Miss Joan Miller and Gary M. Kay. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Alton Peterson of Manti and a granddaughter of Edna C. Jones of Genola Utah. Mr. Kay is the son of Mrs. Edward L. Myrick of Monterey, California. The couple was married by Bryan Bunker, 1st counselor in the presidency of the Temple. He was the President of the California Mission for Gary. The bride has attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Mr. Kay is a graduate of BYU where he was a member of the University Debate Squad, Vice President1 of International Relations and served as editor of the Banyan. He fulfilled a Brazilihn Mission. Following the ceremony the newlyweds were honored at a wedding breakfast at Hotel Utahs Sky Room by Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Myrick. At 8 oclock they were feted at a reception in the Gold Room at Hotel Utah. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Alton Peterson. Bridal attendants included Mrs. M.E. Paxton, matron of honor; Mrs. Duane C. Rowland, a sister; Mrs. Jack W, Miss Ruth Ann Miller, a sister-in-laBassett, a room mate; Miss Jane Adams and Miss Janet Adams, sisters; and Kay Lynn Miller as flower girl. Assisting the bridegroom were Glen Bruce Braith-wait- e, Arthur Don Vincent and Rubens Daniil Gavalheiro. Prenuptial parties were given by Mrs. M.E. Paxton, Mrs. Lynn Hatton, Mrs. Russel Gilbert, Mrs. William Nebeker and Miss Ruth Ann Bassett. The newlyweds were further feted at a reception in the Lions House in Manti by Mr. and Mrs. Alton Peterson, Saturday, March 8, 1969, Mr. and Mrs. Kay left by Salt Lake airport to fly to the Tetons to go skiing for a short honeymoon. 1 Mr. Gregory D. Wedding supper for the bridal party was held at a St. George Cafe Friday night after the Wedding rehearsal, hosted by the grooms parents. Bliss of Lehi wish to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Patricia, to Dell Dalton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norris N. Dalton of Provo. The bride is a graduate of the LaFolette High School in LaFollette, Tennessee. She is now a Junior at the Brigham Young University where she is majoring in Elementary Education. Dean was President of the Senior Class and prominent in the sport s activities at the Payson High School from which he was graduated. h He served an LDS Mission in the North 'Central States. He was one of the Assistants to the Mission President. Dean is now attending the Brigham Young University where he is majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Com-putProgramming. - - Just One Year Old - Kimilee Kae, daughter of Donald F. and Ellen Stark Dudley will be a year old March 21st. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fran Dudley of Spanish Fork and Mr. & Mrs. George Stark of Payson. - News 4-- H - BUSY BEE CLUB The Busy Bee Club was held at the home of their leader, Nancy Evans, Mar. 13, Meeting was called to order by Sarah Cook. Virginia and Susan Christensen sang a duet, Daisy, Daisy. Prayer was H by leader Nancy Evans, pledge by 4-- r Darlene Jensen, pledge of allegiance was led by Denise Miller and the minutes were read and approved. They discussed making dresses. A musical number was given by Sarah Cook, Darlene Jensen and Denise Miller, entitled Pests, accompanied by Virginia Christensen on the trombone. The closing prayer was given by Virginia Christensen. Refreshments were served to 10 members. 4-- H TEN LITTLE COOKIES The Ten Little Cookies were busy baking bread on Thurs., Klar. 13. We made both Date Nut and Banana bread. We learned how to store bread and how to judge good qualities in bread. The prayer was given by Colette Rosenbaum, pledge by Miriam Sue Johnson, pledge by Kathryn Orton. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the family home, 49 North Fifth West, between 2 and 5 p.m. Mrs. Gill was born March 26, 1880, in Zurich, Switzerland, and immigrated to the United States in 1899 with her brother, Jacob Kern, now residing in Logan. Her parents, Jacob and Caroline Gerber Kern, and her brother, Otto, now residing in Albany, Oregon, followed three years later. Her father was killed in 1904 when he fell off a load of hay on to a pichfork while they were living in Preston,. Idaho. Her mother died later. She married Alfred Gill. Oct. 25, 1910, in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Mrs. Gill has been an active member of the LDS church for many years. She has done much work in the Los Angeles, California, Manti and Salt Lake Temples. She has held many offices in the auxilliary organizations of the church, having served as president of the Primary and the Religion Class, and secretary of the Relief Society. She has been a visiting teacher in the Relief Society for some 13 years and for 35 years has been director of the work day in the Relief Society. Mr. Gill was employed for 49 years as a section foreman for, a major railroad and for 15 years was janitor for the Mar-ves- ta Ward LDS Chapel in Los Angeles. They lived in Los Angeles for some 20 years before moving to Payson, where they have spent the past six years. Their sons and daughters are: Mrs. Ray (Asenath) Wendling, Pocatello, Idaho; Marion Gill, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. ' Lyman (Velma) Stokes, Murtaugh, Idaho; Calvin Gill, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Reed (Norma) Rindisbacher, West Payson; Mrs. Bert (Edith) Cardoza, Palo Alto, Calif., Mrs. Colvin (Ranee) Tanner, Payson. Spanish CowBelle President Mattie Cornaby, Lake Shore, wlecomed the large group and Bishop Glen Larsen, Leland, was master of ceremonies for the evening. Prayer was by Harold Swneson. Ned Madsen, Manti, Utah State Cattlemen President, spoke briefly and program numbers were Randy Jensen, Spanish Fork vocal solo; Diane Andersen, Spanish Fork,' piano solo; and Toni Hawkins, Benjamin,' who sang and accompanied herself on the guitar. During the evening door prizes were given to lucky people. Some of these prizes were curry combs, brushes, horse shoes and ropes, or things that cattlemen could use. The main speaker was Mark L. Money, Salt Lake City, who gave a very interesting and informative talk on the subject, "The Unseen University. Mrs. Money accompanied him to the banquet. Clever table decorations were bronze horseshoes with flowers and miniature branding irons and lariats. Brown and yellow paper, the Cowbelle colors, were twisted down the centers of the tables. The decorations were made by Rela and Max Depew from Payson. Other CowBelle officers who helped make the evening a success were: Lois Tingey, Lake Shore; Jane B. Nelson, Spanish Fork; Ellen Jensen, Spanish Fork; Mary Jane Dixon, Benjamin; Lois Nash, Palmyra; and Nellie Larsen, Leland. Cattlemen from the Spanish Fork, Payson, Springville and Lake Shore Livestock Association boards assisted. The Cowbells wish to thank Benjamin Ward and everyone who helped with the banquet and social.
