Show Payson Sweeps to Swim Victory 6 THE PAYSON CHRONICLE Payson, Utah 84651 - - Thursday, July 25, 1968 Sunburned spectators, crowding the stands at the Pay-sswimming pool, watched Payson sweep to victory over both Spanish Fork and Price Saturday. In the same meet Spanish Fork edged Price out by a mere 20 points. Relay first score strongly, pointwise, and Payson fielded seven teams in medley relay who took first place and six were first in freestyle relays. First place in freestyle in ascending age g r o u p s were taken by Debbie Nelson, Gary Jensen, Alan Wilson, Jane Ann Wilson, Kathy Stewart, Jeff Vest, Lanette Gasser. In Butterfly Teresa Nelson eeked out a win from a Spanish Fork girl, Richard Nelson and Robert Brown had decisive victories and both Shelly Fairbanks and Kathy Stickney won their races by split seconds. Deborah Nelson won a very close first in backstroke in the girls 8 and under group while Keith Mattinson, Diane Stevens, Alan Wilson, IlaFrancom, Scott on Wilson and LaNette Gasser all earned first place points for Scuba Divers Class Started Junior Golfers Special Ladies Tourney All Junior golfers who have Next Thursday on August 1st a special tournament for the Gladstan Lady Golfers is being planned by Ladies' Day Chairman Ruth Stevens.
