The outage is scheduled for Sunday, May 26, from 2 until about 5 a.m. The cut in power will be caused when workmen make changes between Utah Power and Light Cos point of delivery to Strawberry Water Users lines and also to Strawberry Water Users switch rack. They will also put what power that is available back into the Payson area. PROCLAMATION The week, May 19th to 24th has been proclaimed by Mayor Losser as Payson Senior Citizen Week. The Senior Citizen Art Class of Pa 'son held an Art Exhibit and Tea Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center at 40 West Utah Avenue. Many attended. The art exhibit will be held everyday from 2 to 6 ending on Friday and the public is invited. Friday the 24th, a film on Quacks and Quackery is to be shown. This is a very infilm showing how formative and people especially older people are swindled out of their earnings by being overcharged for drugs and household goods. This film will be shown in the Nebo Stake Center on Friday night. May 24th, at 8:00. Doctors will be in attendance to answer questions from the audience. The film and discussions are sponsored by the Pay-so- n Senior Citizens Committee, Nebo Stake Presidency and Pay-so- n City. Everyone is urged to attend. Measom, a veteran teacher of the Nebo School District has filed for election to a two year term in the Utah House of Representatives District 44 as a Democrate. A native of Lake Shore, he attended the local schools, graduating from Spanish Fork High School in 1947. After serving two years as a missionary in the British Isles, he entered the Birgham Young University where he majored in history and minor-e- d in political science and economics. Upon his graduation he entered the U.S. Army, serving 16 months in Korea. Since his release from the army, Mr. Measom has lived in Salem, where he now resides with his wife, the former Louise Butler of Kamas and their four children. He is a home owner and tax payer. He has been active in both civic and religious affairs, having served a four year term on the Salem City Council and is currently serving in the Salem 2nd Ward Bishopric. For the past 11 years Mr. Measom has taught history and government at Payson High School, and feels well qualified to represent the. people of this area. He believes the only legitimate objective of the government is the health, the happiness, and the well being of the people; and if elected will do his utmost to see that these objectives will be carried out. Mrs. Curtis is the out going president. There were eight state Legion and six state Legion auxiliary officers attending the convention. They went on to Moab for a convention here Saturday. A group of local young men were given the special treat of seeing the movie in which they appeared as extras Monday evening when the management of Huish Theater played a sneak preview of The Devils Brigade. The picture is being shown to the oublic in a premiere presentation the week of May 22nd io 28th. The movie was filmed in part in the Camp Williams area north of Lehi about a year ago. Some of the shots are actually in the compound of Camp Williams, and some are in the surrounding area. The Utah National Guard was called upon to furnish certain props and a Payson man, Clyde Hone, a warrant officer with the Guard, assisted in recruiting a few extras to play in the scenes where a number of soldiers were needed as background to the main players. Participating from Payson were Clyde Hone, Craig Hone, Mike Hone; Tom Tervort, David Lamb, Nolan McAffee.Max Page, and Brent Crane, and also Allen Davis from Genola.
