Mr. Jelesnik has been in the musical limelight since his child prodigy, beginning after World War I as conductor of the Salt Lake Philharmonic Orchestra, violinist, composer and music impresario. Miss Loukas has just returned from her second tour as featured soprano with the Fred Waring troup. A native of Salt Lake City, Miss Loukas has performed in many outstanding musical productions. This week Mrs. Har- -i per is enjoying a tour of the Canadian Rockies. On her re- turn she will visit friends and relatives in Salt Lake City and during Homecoming she will be a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels. 4 Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wittwer J and daughter, Becky of Chula ; Vista, Calif., recently spent Jwo weeks at the ranch with her . mother, Mrs. Dave Shuler. After departure of Mr. and Mrs. I Wittwer for their home on the west coast, Becky spent two t ' weeks with her cousins, child- ren of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Shuler Phone 465-239- 5 also at the ranch. Mrs. Shuler has also heard from her other daughter, Mrs. Joe McNabb, of West Pakistan, who is now visiting in the San Francisco area. Margaret Schwartz of Los Angeles, Calif., is visiting in Payson with her sister, Mrs. Robert L. Wilson, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Elmer greeted their son, Layne, at the Salt Lake Airport last Tuesday evening, on his arrival from Austria, where he has spent the past two years laboring as an LDS missionary. Michael Childs, of Washington D. C. The four spent the night at the Dixon Ranch in Spanish Fork Canyon, and were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Mart Bringhurst and family of Springville. The visitors are routing their trip through various state and national parks in their first trip to Utah since their early spring marriage. Mrs. Ramona Smith and her daughter, Mrs. Dale Barnett, visited recently in Pittsburgh, Pa., with their daughter and sister, Mrs. Stanley (Connie) Cloward, and children, Kerri and Wendy. Traveling by plane they were away some two weeks. Mrs. Lillian Hancock accompanied her daughter and husw band, Mr. and Mrs. Harold De-gra- and son, Tim, of Maple-to- n, on a trip to Auborn, Wash., where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gittens and son David. The Gittens took the Utahns to many places of interest. Thev ferried to Seattle, where they enjoyed the view from the Space Needle and also Why fly over the scenery visited Rainier National Park and other areas. Mon- Mrs. Alpha Balle had as dinner guests Sunday, Aug. 6, her granddaughter, JoAnn Lundell and her fiance, Joanie Bryan, and also Mr. and Mrs. Junior Lundell and son and daughter, Craig and Jane Lundell. Mrs. Russell Hillman and children, Lorie and R. L., departed Tuesday morning for Delores, Colo., where they will join Mr. Hillman, who is a counselor at the Circle K Ranch, working with young boys on vacation for a period of three weeks. The family will stop in Payson for Harvest Days and Homecoming and then return to Los Angeles, Calif., where Mr. Hillman is a teacher of education in an elementary Beverly Hills school. While in Payson, Mrs. Hillman and the children were guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielsen, who recently visited at the Hillman home in Los Angeles. Norman Kropf, who is attending Utah State University in Logan, has visited recently with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kropf, in Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Draper of Salt Lake City recently visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Colvin, Payson; and Mr. and Mrs. LuRay Draper, Genola. Dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Alpha Balle Sunday, Aug. 13, were her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ronal Crump and children, Sharon, Jeanette, Ronnie and David. Mrs. Flora Bissell, Salt Lake City, formerly of Payson, and her friend, Mrs. Lena Hagen, also of Salt Lake City, spent an enjoyable afternoon Thursday in Payson with Mrs. Lizzie Montague. Mrs. Ruby Ellsworth returned home Sunday after spending more than a month in Tooele with her daughter, Connie, pnd husband, AL'red Johnson, who are parents of a new baby girl, Lisa Diane. The couple also have two other girls, Starlaand Tresa. The Johnsons brought Mrs. Ellsworth home and all attended the Elmer reunion at Memorial Park. Lavon Johnson and family recently spent a vacation in Pay-so- n when on from duty with the Navy. Mr. Johnson is being transferred from n. The Livestock Club had a demonstration and construction of a back rubber for cattle by Marlyn Kay. Allen Neuton Jr. gave a deomonstration of para-citon cattle. The girls of each club receives ed a completion ribbon. Wednesday Aug. 9th Mrs. Lillian Finch and Mrs. Beathea Wolf were selected to go to Richfield Sevier Co. to judge at the H Exhibit there. They were assigned to the Dept of Improvement. The Live Stock club from Goshen supplied the color guard and led the Pledge of Allegiance and also the H Pledge at the community exhibit at Payson. Lee and Dale Jolley, Michael Herbert and Jeffry Wolf were the Flag bearers. 4-- Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hansen and boys of Calif, visited in Goshen and Eureka last week. They also visited Mr. Hansens mother, Mrs. Rowena Hansen of Eureka, who is a patient at the Payson Hospital. Mrs. Diane Winnie, Mrs. Gracie White, Mrs. Shelia Jensen, Mrs. Nancy Evans and Mrs. Bessie Jane Borgna, all enjoyed dinner at a Provo Cafe last Wed. evening. Mrs. Marshall Borgna and four children of Las Vegas, returned home Aug. 10th after spending the past ten days at the home of her mother, Mrs. Peete Gutierrez of Goshen. Mrs. Rand (Judy) Whitman and her small brother-in-law, The family of the late Darrell Brown of Payson gathered at the Brown cabin at Strawberry to celebrate his birthday over the weekend. M. Clayson and his wife of Walla Walla, Wash., and his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Clayson, and three sons, of Sacramento, Calif., visited in Payson last week with relatives. While they were here, Eva Clayson Coombs, Spanish Fork; and Alice Clayson Spencer, Payson accompanied them to tour the canyons of Southern Utah. On Saturday, Aug. 12, a reunion of the William Clayson Sr. family was held at Saratoga and all mentioned attended. Mr. Clayson was widely known as a member of the Payson Band and also as a community and church leader. Eddie Whitman of Provo, left by plane last Thursday for San Francisco. They will join her mother-in-laMrs. Darrell Whitman and will return home next week. PFC Paul Hide, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hatch, flew to San Francisco, Calif, last Wednesday where he will soon leave for Viet-Na- m. Mrs. Myrtle Hansen, attended a Masonic Picnic at Saratoga last Sunday. She spent the past week at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Gary Mullins at Kerns. She was accompanied home by her three great grandchildren for a two week vacation.
