Mr. McMullin approved some of the amendments and disapproved others, stating his reasons. Mrs. Leland Sheets presided at the meeting in the absence of Mrs. Melford King, president. Legion Auxiliary has program on Civil Defense Several women from the local unit, American Legion Auxiliary, spent last Wednesday quilting at the State Hospital in Provo. They were Lenore Jones, president; Reba Olsen, hospital chairman; and Ollie Wilson, vice president. The quilts are pieced at the h o s p i t a 1 and quilted by volunteers from the county. Mrs. Jones said there is a high demand for the lovely quilts, and that funds earned are used to take the patients on that floor to Provo restaurants for dinner. She said the patients on the floor are kept busy weaving rag rugs and also making rugs from discarded nylon hose. More nylon hose are needed for this use. Anyone having some to give away is asked to contact members of the Auxiliary in Payson. JaNene Smith, Robert Nostaja are married in Spring Lake ceremony JaNene Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Smith of Spring Lake, repeated wedding vows with Robert J. Nostaja, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne J. Nostaja of Santaquin in the Spring Lake Ward chapel on Sept. 24 with Bishop Junior H. Lundell officiating. The bride entered the room on the arm of her father, following the bridesmaids as appropriate wedding music was duet played in an organ-pian- o by Raelene and Craig Johnson. After the impressive ceremony, attende by family members and intimate friends, the couple was honored at a reception given, by the brides parents. The bride wore a bouffant floor length gown of Chantilly lace with a chapel train caught up into a bustle in back. A rose held her full flowing veil and she carried a bouquet of Talisman roses and white carnations. Margie Smith served her sister as maid of honor, with Linda Childs, Carol Allen, Patsy Adams, Kathy Bott, Linda Houghton and Mabel Vigil as bridesmaids. They wore gowns of apricot fial and carried bouquets of white and orange mums. Best man duties were performed by Don Allen, with young Terry Allen as junior best man. The bridal party received guests before an elaborate of crystal chandeliers and baskets of orange glads and white mums before a silvered backdrop. A large white cherub and silver punchbowl were featured on the buffet table and small cherubs pearl-trimm- ed Merl Tanner of Reno, Nev., has spent the week with his mother, Mrs. Sarah Tanner, after attending funeral services for his son, Douglas B. Carlisle their daughter, Mrs. Margaret Wilson, and two of her children of Salt Lake City, spent Friday at the Uinta Basin country, visiting in Bluebell, where Margaret was born. Stephen Max Alvey and his wife and seven sons have vacationed in Payson with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Alvey and also with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goble, in Springville. They plan to leave this week for Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he will be stationed during the coming 18 months, assigned to the USNS Sgt. Joseph E. Muller.
