She and her parents and brothers and sisters had visited the Leming-to- n Cemetery and on the return trip home decided on a picnic at the sand dunes eight miles southwest of Jerico. After lunch she wandered away and soon found she was lost and all alone. After two hours of searching for her parents and walking about two miles she decided night was coming on and she had better stay put so she sat down and waited. On finding Alice gone, her mother made a fast trip to Eureka for help while her father and brothers started a well organized hunt. Juab Co. sheriff Gerald Peterson organized a search and then he headed for the dunes and arrived just in time to witness a scared little girl running to the arms of her father. She had no serious effects but cold and scratched and very tired and slept most of the way home.
