Both political parties hold mass meetings the same day to elect voting district officers and delegates to the county convention. The State Republican Central Committee expects thousands of people to attend the 1239 meetings the Republicans will hold in every comer of the state. State GOP Chairman Ray M. Child said we expect the television program to give a uninimi-t- y to the meetings which could be achieved in no other way." The program will be broadcast on KSL-TChannel 5. from 8:00 to 8:30 P.M. Mass meetings are scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM. Mr. Child urged each mass meeting chairman to make a television set the center of the meeting in his district We will give Instructions to party members throughout the state and introduce GOP candidates for state and federal office, he added. District procedure and organization will also be discussed by state officials. Each voting district will elect a chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, at least three committeemen, and delegates to the county convention. In some counties ,the voters will also nominate delegates to the state convention at the mass meetings. Delegates to the state convention will elect delegates to the national convention, a national committeeman and committee-womaand presidential electors. They will also nominate candidates for state-wid- e and Congressional district officers. Those candidates for offices of the state senate in multiple county areas will be nominated at the state convention. The State Republican Central Committee, meeting March 14 in Salt Lake City approved the dates of the senate convention as June 12, 13, 1963.
