The scene was the century-old- , former city hall, which has been moved, stone ty st ne, to a na.v lu ation iu.;l opposite the State Car to . Begun in 1864, completed in 13r6, the handsome. redstor:t structure served as a territorial capital as well as city hall. At its new location the building will be headquarters of the Utah Tourist and Publicity Council. Councilman Gus P. Backmkn, and Secretary of State Lament Toronto, who helped show the church leaders through the ' building, joined in discussions of plans for the buildings dedication. They agreed that the building, restored through a $258,000 donation by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Da- y Saints will be formally known as Council Hall. Dedication of the structure will be delayed until its grounds, including retaining wall and flagpole, can be fully completed. However, the building will be open to the public for use of tourist visitors, and by the stall of Tourist and Publicity Director D. James Cannon. During the course of his tour throughout the two-s- i oiy strucure President McKa praised city officials for donating the land on which t) state structure now stands, and for donations of portraits of the citys former mayors. Governor Clyde noted that the restored building provides a very badly needed facility for the increasing flow of tourists to Utah.
