The appointment of Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Keith Jacobs, Pleasant Grove, were announced by Prof. Herald R. Clark, president of the association. Announcement of the two appointmerts came at the semi annual meeting of the board last week. The meeting was held to complete preparations for the associations member- ship drive May drive Membership representatives from all Utah County cities will contact families for membership in the unique cultural organization. Mrs. Woodrow E. Evans, Provo, is chairman of the membership drive. Season memberships in the association cost $6 and entitle the member to attend all season-mor- e than a dozen performances. Spring Lake Ward Sets Homecoming gt April Storms Water Supply A cool wet April has done much to brighten the water supply outlook for most of Central Utah, including Utah County. Snow surveys completed April 30 by the Soil Conservation Service show this last month as one of the wettest 30 day periods in the records of mountain precipitation for the last 15 years. Rain gages located at key points of the various watersheds draining into Utah Lake show that six to ten inches of water fell during the month. Normally three to five inches are expected. Stanley Peterson, Engineering Technician with the Soil Conservation Service, stated that even with the increase received during the past month, the accumulated total mountain precipation since Oct. 1, 1962 is still below what would be considered an average year. During most years a good deal of snow melt would have occured by May 1, saturating the soil profile, and beginning to show up as stream flow. The letter was ruined this spring by students from a rival school after an altercation over a basketball game. Rocks that formed the P were rolled to the bottom of the mountainside, leaving only a bare outline of the letter. The P was placed on the mountain many years ago by one of the early classes of the local school, and has been whitewashed every spring by students. The P is lighted every graduation night, after pots of oil were carried up the steep incline in preparation of the 'vent. Seniors have announced that they will build the P of cement this time. Santaquin to Select Queen In Contest Saturday, Celebration Set June 5 MIA June Conference to Attract 121,000 Under the theme, This Wonderful World of MIA, plans six months in the making are now complete for the 64th Annual MIA Conference, June 14, 15, 16, in Salt Lake City, it is announced by the General YMMIA Superintendencl and LDS YWMIA Presidency, Church. All sessions and events will be open to the public without charge.
