Show Thursday, August 16, 1962 Growth Notes By Beulah G. Bradley Phone 754-3- 621 It had been windy all week long. The air was filled with dust and restlessness. It's very essence brought a spirit of waiting. Things pertaining to were postaccomplishment poned by most living things. Even the animals gathered in groups to huddle near protective sheds and bowing trees, to stand with heads lowered as if to escape the onslaught of flying debris and the violent thrust of wind. Grit and dirt permeated ones homes and well being cloud ing abilities to work or to think clearly. Those fortunate enough to be indoors escaped the sand-fille- d eyes but felt an urgent need to get busy with soap and water. Women busied themselves about their homes and halfheartedly dabbled at cleaning which they had promised each day to do. When this wind quits, was that promise made over and over, Ill give every-thin- k a thorough cleaning, they said. Its just a lick and our grandfathers a promise would call this type of procrastination. By Saturday the onslaught of wind had dried to leafwhispering. Suddenly dusters, detregents, vaccums, mops, and all manner of cleaning equipment seemed to come from to dominate the nowhere, scene. During the day scattering of dried leaves lying on the ground seemed to threaten that wind gusts were not far behind. It cant be, of course, because some trucks have more quality than others. And marks of quality are the real keys to low cost, Chevrolet trucks, for example, have double-waconstruction, which gives bodies and cabs more strength. Cabs are insulated against heat, cold and noise. A big part of road shock, which shortens truck life, is damped out by Chevrolets suspension system; it also makes riding in the truck a pleasure.
