Show 1 Infernal Revenue Deparfment Sets Up Monday Taxpayer Program for Filing 59 Returns The Monday Taxpayer formation Program during the period for filing 1959 Federal income tax returns was put into effect throughout the District on January 11, 1960, according to word received today from Roland V. Wise, District Director for the Utah District. Under this plan, Internal Revenue Service employees will stll answer questions or give information to persons making out income tax returns but they would like to do it on Mondays. By concentrating on Mondays, better service can be afforded to taxpayers, and the Internal Revenue Service can minimize the cost of its service. Wise that Forms W-- 2 showing (1) total wages and amount of income tax withheld and (2) the amount of Social Security employee tax and amount of wages subject to this tax are to be given employees on or before January 31, 1960 for calendar year 1959. However, if an employee leaves the service of an employer before, the close of the calendar year and is not expected to return to work within the calendar year, the statement must be furnished to the employee not later than 30 days after the last payment of wages is made to the employee, Mr. Wise said. (3) In the event the call does not - clear- up the difficulty, they may come into the Internal Revenue office on Monday.
