Dr. Kenneth B. Castleton, Salt Lake City, Division Chairman, announced in a special report the medical and nurshad pledged ing profession $804,872 to the Medical Center Fund. Goal of the Medical Division was $800,000. In announcing completion of the medical divisions role in the fund raising program, Dr. Castleton said, It is with particular pride that I am able to announce the medical division has raised more than $800,000 toward construction costs of the new University of Utah Medical Center.. By their actions physicians, nurses, technicians and students have demonstrated their awareness of the need for this Medical Center. The goal of the Medical Division has been a high one but the challenge was met. The objective has been reached and even exceeded. This was done largely through the hard work and cooperation of a number of outstanding men and women and through the gifts of nearly 2,000 individuals. I wish to thank everyone connected with our division for their support. It has, indeed, been a job well done. The Medical Center Campaign has an overall goal of This money and $4,010,000. $6 million in State and Federal Funds will be used to construct a Medical Center on the University of Utah campus.
