SANTAQUIN-TINTI- C When one is challenged to an article to represent such a wonderful group of people as those who live in our stake, it is with a desire strong in mind that I try to s put into words the strong of loyalty and love which vie for prominence along with words of reprisal to those who would hold no joy at the privileges of living among you As James Freeman Clark has said, It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do I right or wrong today. And I feel inspired this night as sit here to write of you in our stake to say I am thankful that I live among such thoughtful, kind and truly God fearing and God loving w-t- e feel-:ng- people. Perchance I might miss a bit of shining new paint on a store front, but notice it not for the smile of friendship and welcome on the faces of hose on the street are warm nd happiness revealmg. We found what we were looking for in coming to live among you those who teach by exwho magnify ample; those their teachings in the church and in their lives, those with desiring to lift and build, those who truly represent God, giving of its to others, and findd ing that heaven is truly in two places, where God lives and in a grateful heart. I truly feel and believe that life is what you are looking for and in it is warmth, happiness, love, joy of service, and pride in ones home town. Three new ward members were baptized and confirmed during the day, Owen Kent McCormick, son of Owen Kent McCormick Sr. and the former Verona Deon Davis; Ned Lynn Topham, son of Ervin and Helen Taylor Dodds. Last Tuesday in the Second Ward MIA Dcrtt and Dick York and Albert Wall were honored by the MIA Maids of the ward. They were honored for their many years of service in church. Mr. and Mrs. York for having served as Janitors for years, and for other services, and Mr. Wall for his many years of setting the example in temple work in the ward. The group tea-- . Mrs. Lesl e Olsen as- sisted the girls in the special program held prior to lesson Sunday evening. Large crowds of parents enjoyed the fin? participation of their children in the inspirational program. The theme was developed by song, story and speech. And a little child shall lead them, is the adage that certainly proved true last Sunday in test mony meeting at the Second Ward when the Junior Sunday School made a visit to the adult Sunday School and Sacrament meeting, Testimonies of faith were borne by most of the children, thus adding to the fine spirit there Mothers Day will be noted in the wards of the stake next Sunday morning. In honor of Mothers Day, the Santaquin Second Mx 2 ' A,,. n m 7 mn .V - faster, work-savin- Mothers Day. Proceeds will go toward the building of the new church building, and all are urged to help support the worthy cause. We had a wonderful turnout for the stake temple session last Wednesday. The last time I heard there were 80 who attended from our stake. It was a wonderful day for all attended two sessions before returning home. Plans are going forward in the Santaquin Second Ward for their annual Welfare Banquet, which is scheduled to be held Saturday evening May 9, at the stake house commencing at 6:30 p.m. All are urged to bring their own dishes and contact the bishopric for tickets. Dinner is being prepared by the Relief Society, and a wonderful evening together is anticipated by every ward member. Be sure to be there. A special program is electric cooking . . . and all the family will enjoy better eating!
