She was born July 8, 1873 at Fairview, Sanoete Co., a daughter of August A. and Huldah C. Terry Hjorth. She spent her child hood in Fairview and Clinton and was married to George Sam uel Pickering in the Manti L. D. S. Temple November 7, 1895. They lived on a ranch in Clinton for several years, then in Payson and in 1900 moved to Stirling, Alberta Canada, where they lived for seven years, They returned to Payson in 1907, living first on a farm wmst of the city and then moved to the Pickering homestead in the First Ward. Mr. Pickering died several years ago. Mrs. Pickering was an ardent church worker, particulary in the Relief Society' and was active 'in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She served as Church Welfare supervisor for the First Ward and engaged extensively in Tem- Veterans of World War II who were honorably discharged on or after May 12, hut before November 1,1945, were today cautioned by Colonel Joseph D.
