greetings to the chapters of the American Red RedCross RedCross RedCross Cross on the occasion of ot their annual meetings for 1118 1918 With these greetings go congratulations la- la Hons on the great work of ot the chapters during the past year year and above all aU things on the wonderful spirit of ot sacrifice sacrifice sac sac- Sacrifice sac Sac- and patriotism which has pervaded pervaded pervaded per per- per per- that work The strength of ot the Red Cross rests upon its chapters They are its bone and sinew They supply its funds the they supply Its men tend women they supply Its following facts On May 1 1917 Just before the ap tip- appointment appointment of the War Council the American Red Cross had mem members bers working through chapters On July 31 the organization numbered annual members besides members of the time Junior Red Cross Cross Cross-a a total enrollment of over one fourth the population ot of the United States Since the beginning of the war you jou of the chapters have operated cooperated with the War Council In conducting two war fund drives and one membership drive in addition to the campaign on behalf of the Junior Red Cross The total actual
