the credit union such as a longer hours more convenient lodrive-uwindow and cation checking accounts In November 1999 Moroni Teed Credit Union expanded to Ephraim bringing dm service for the first Council reluctantly approves OHV ordinance by Jim Olsen “I hope we're not making a mistake" was the sentment ot Gunnison City Council member Steve Buchanan as he voted for the Off Highway Vehicle Ordinance (OHV) during the regular meeting ol the council on July 7 Each council member m attendance had some concerns to the apparent abuse of OHVs in the city without an oidinance Police Chief Blane Jensen admitted that his departmert bas been issuing more citation since the council has been discussing the ordinance He added that now he can issue a citation for up to SI 000 - a Class B misdemeanor OHVs pulled over for speeding will be charged an S82 fine Now the city will keep the funds where prior to the ordinance the state received any money from OHV violations The city council was unwilling to designate particular routes in the city but will regulate the crossing of Main Street at 100 North and 200 South “W ell I suppose that if it doesn't work we can just vote to pull the ordinance” said council men her Rod Taylor (A complete ordinance will be printed in next week’s Gunnison Valley News ) The council was introduced to the city's newest police officer Zach Howick has joined the foae He and his family are relocating from the Uinta Basin area Gunnison LDS Stake President Curtis Anderson approached the council concerning the of the settling of Gunnison Valley This will take place in 2009 Anderson wanted the city’s Stake support if the Gunnison were to organize activities for this celebration He received the support He suggested the city begin the possibility of investigating producing a statue of Capt Gun mson as part of the celebration Council member Larry Jensen approached the council (or a $6800 donation for the I ions and Jaycees new pavilion Jensen the rainy day fund and suggested the motion be placed on the council's next agenda so they could take action and give the two groups some money The council also discussed the progress on the Jake Brake
