beloved father of Judy Riba of Hayden Idaho and the late Kenneth A Sorensen of Lafayette California He was born December 8 9 2 in Salina Utah the youngest child of James G and Anna Bell Allred Sorensen Tad excelled academically was president of his senior class and was a major contributor to North Sevier’s baseball and basketball teams stint Following a short depression-erat Weber College in Ogden Utah Tad worked at the Kennecott Copper mines near Ely Nevada where he was a member of the Elks Club After several years he returned to Salina where he worked as the parts manager for Burr Motor In 1955 he moved his young family to Salt Lake City where he worked for Kennecott Copper until he retired Tad loved sports especially baseball In his young adult life he played shortstop for company teams and was known for his speed and dexterity He was a Little League coach in Salt Lake City and he for two seasons in Coeur coached d’Alene Tad is survived by his daughter and Judy and Spring City Utah the daughter of Loreno and Mary Jane Aiken Velda was raised in Spring City where she graduated from North Sanpete High School in Ml Pleasant She attended BYU for one year On June 22 937 she married Gleave E Peterson in the Manti Temple They were blessed with four children: Darwin Janet Claudia and Nordell They resided in Redmond Utah until 950 They then moved to Las Vegas Nevada where they raised their family until 1973 when retirement brought them back to Redmond and to St George Velda's life was one of service to her fellow man She was a very loving and caring wife and mother She served faithfully in church callings throughout her life She devoted 10 years in the Manti Temple and the St George Temple with Gleave She was truly a friend to the widowed the lonely and
