Show Page 3 The Gunnison NewsSalina Sun Wednesday December 7 1994 Royal and Maxine Jensen Local couple to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary Royal and Maxine Jensen will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary at an open house hosted by their children Dec 10 at the 994 from Church in Centerfield UT Every one is invited and they request no gifts only the presence of your company The couple were married Dec 23 1944 and their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on Feb 15 1958 Royal was bom in Mayfield and attended school in Mayfield At age 18 he went to work in California at a ship yard and 2 years later went into the army He was in the army for 2 years during World War II Royal worked for Hermansen’s mill for 27 years and was able to run all of the machinery there Royal later worked for the South Sanpete School District for 16 years as a custodian and a bus driver He has been active in the church holding positions such as First Counselor in the MIA also President of the MIA and has also worked with the scouts He is presently Secretary of the Aaronic Priesthood and is a home teacher Maxine has been a house wife most of the time during their marriage When her children were bigger and could take care of themselves she took a job as Custodian and Cook at the Gunnison Valley Elementary School for the South She Sanpete School District worked there for 19 years and is now retired Maxine has been active in the LDS Church as a Primary teacher a Relief Society Secretary and visiting teacher Royal and Maxine have 5 children (Rolland Fred Kevin Reed and Michele) They also have 21 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren The couple are long term residences of Centerfield Aurora News Cindy Andreason -
