Basketball Team played three games during the week of JanuThe first game was against ary Park City it was a league game and was a win for Gunnison During the 1st quarter the Gunnison Bulldogs were cold They were 0 fur 6 from the foul line and 3 for 5 from the field However Park City had their share of trouble also The score at the end of the first quarter of play was 6 to 5 for Gunnison The second quarter the bulldogs changed their defense and went to the press defense It opened the game up for some steals and easy layups that helped them of the game leading 28 half take control to 12 at the Third quarter Gunnison continued to dominate the game with 20 points made to Park City’s four Third quarter score was 48 to 16 During the fourth quarter they let the bench come out and play and Coach Dailey stated that it was a good game for the whole team Top scorers in Park City game was Jammie Stevenson and Amie Dailey with 8 points and Amy Nay had 13 rebounds The Girls Basketball team went up against Rowland Hall The game was even up until the third quarter and Gunnison seemed to go cold They had no hustle and defense and that proved to be the difference ‘stated Coaclt Dailey They had one 2 points in that quarter alone Third quarter score 32 to 46 for Rowland Hall Gunnison girls came back in the fourth but were unable to make up for the points reored in the third quarter Final score was 56 to 49 for Rowland Hall Girls with high points were Amie Dailey 19 Jamie Stevenson 8 Julie Bogh 8 and Tammy Pickett 9 Next the Bulldogs went up against the Delta Rabbits The Bulldogs were missing players from sickness and just didn’t show up Coach Dailey stated that they just didn’t play well they had terrible and the shooting with only 22 player with 57-3- son Valley and sent them Cowboys by seven points going into the last two minutes but the boys did not play like they were ahead and almost gave the game away It was also the 4 th quarter that shot the Bulldogs out into the large lead that they needed coming into the final minutes of the game Coach Hill felt that the team played some great defense working the half court and as a result trap to perfection gaining a large number of turnovers He also mentioned that the rebounding was some of the strongest that the team has had so far this year The Bulldogs had a 77 free throw percentage which is well above their past
