and Nancy and her husband Larry Robison and both families for part of the weekend Margaret Nielsen’s children Gary and La Rae Hatch and their seven children and Doug and Anita Nielsen and their four boys were here to help her feel better after her fall She’s feeling quite a bit better just stiff and sore she says Ellis and Venna Nay and their Five boys went to Mesa Arizona to see the Easter Pageant “Jesus the Christ” at the temple grounds there They were to travel on from Mesa some and return ' home in the puddle of the week Marty and Kathy Christensen and their seven kids went up Mayfield canyon for a picnic Easter Sunday but got stuck in a ditch By the time they got out they just came home and “picnicked” there Keith and Max ine Sorenson and Bill and Marilyn (Sorenson) Nordfelt and their six children went to Capitol Reef for apicnic Saturday They all had - 1 Evelyn Kiesel - an enjoyable time Maxine’s mother Myrtle Jensen! is still in ORegon with her daughter Veone Fjeldsted She’s homesick but can’t travel for quite a few weeks yet Ivan and Madge and Moyel and Veone Jensen were here in the valley to visit over the weekend They saw Eugene and Nancy and Mardell and Elva and probably quite a few others The children were out of school Friday and will not go back until T so Keith and Loralee Jensen and their three went to Zion ’s Cany on for an extended weekend Arden and Affalone’s oldest son Jack was home for the weekend Arden is getting along pretty well He sits out on his front porch and watches his small world go by We’re glad he’s feeling better and the Scouts Derek Greg Worthington Anderson Jeff Bartholomew Andy Hill Courtney Bartholomew Matt Roberts Richard Homs and Greg Anderson The trip was at GRand Gulch which is 8 miles from theNatural Bridges This is a deep desert canyon with scores of Anasuzi Ruins They hiked 25 miles in 2 12 days They met scout troops from Colorado and Arizona and Idaho They met one man from Boston who has hiked the canyon five times Curtis stated that they didn’t see any pop cans or candy bar wrappers on the whole trip He said that back packers are very clean when they hike and carry back out all their trash zens Legislature and was active in the Democratic party He moved to Manti in 1967 raised mink and eventually operated an antique shop During the 20 years he lived in Manti he belonged to the Manti American Legion Post 31 serving as commander and later as Commander of District 6 of the American Legion He was instrumental in establishing the communication system in Sanpete County known as which operates around the clock and has saved many lives Due to poor health he moved to Bountiful in August of 1986 Survivors include his wife 2 sons 4 daughters: Hal J Williams CA Scott Williams CA Shauna Eugene LaMar Williams Eugene LaMar Williams age 67 died March 19 1988 at his home in Bountiful Utah of cancer He was bom May ll1920inSalt Lake City Utah to James F and Leona Clark Williams He married Beverly McMillian August 1940 in Farmington she was a former RN at Gunnison Hospital He was a member of the LDS Church and was active in the Scouting Program Was a member of the Rose Park Lions Club serving on both state and local levels Was chairman of the Safety Committee of West High PTA During this time he introduced and worked for the passage of legislation of safety the wearing mandating glasses in labs and shops of public schools We was a veteran of World War II He had been employed by Kennccott for 20 years as a brick mason During this time he served as chairman of the SteelSafety
