The rooster population seems quite high as usual It could spell a longer hunting season The sagebrush foothills furnish too quick a getaway for this warry bird and the hunters are unable to harvest the available birds in such a short season I visited several chukar areas There was no attempt made to make any count and it Is impossible to tell Sexes in the field I observed a lot of signs of foxes and house cats wherever these birds were found These house cats and foxes are our worst game bird predators They are really increasing If you happen to travel the fields while the snow is there
