He died very suddenly Saturday morning, July 2 but no def ils were given. Mr. Cowan was born in Payson, the son of Alexander and Jane ll Cowan. He married Etta Man-wi- ll of Payson and some years later they moved to Eureka, then to Salt Lake and later to San Francisco, where Mr. Cowan was in the employment of the government at Fort Mason. He is survived by his wddcw and five daughters in San Francisco, two brothers and two sisters, John M. Cowan and Mrs. Sarah Wilson, Payton; Joseph Cowan and Mrs. Emma Vv'immer, Duchesne.
