Harris was warmly greeted by the student body of the Bngham Young university in the assemblage at college hall on Monday, on his return from Mexico. In his address to the students, President Harris gave three generalizations as a result of his visit to Mexico. (1) Mormonism there, as in every other place, makes better all who come in cnoiact with it. (2) Education is the greatest factor for advancement of civilization in modern lives. (3) More than ever I am convinced that Brigham Young university is the finest place for western young men and women to obtain a college education. He had spent seven weeks, he said with President Ray Pratt m missionary work in Mexico. They had had the privilge of bathing in the Pacific and in the Atlantic; of passing over the most arid deserts that could be imagined and likewise dense tropical swamps; they had been at the sea level ancj on the sides of volcanie mountains they woultl eqilal two Timpanoges in height; they had slept at palaces and in hovels; they had been entertained at elaborate banquets and at informal meals without knives or forks; .they had had the privilege of speaking to humble people and to intelligent people. Great People As a result of all these experiences, President Harris declared that the Mexican people are a great people and are making rapid advancement. Some of the people, at the present time, live in primitive villages but others live in the city of Mexico which is one of the greatest cities of the world. He had enjoyed a banquet at the American embassy, at which were present college preseidents and professors from the United States and cabinet members from the Mexican government. His visit,, President Harris declared, had given him a fine opportunity of seeling what Mormornism has done for people whose lives have been touched thereby. The benefit, he asserted cannot be measured. He gave as an example one young man, who, during the past year had paid $400.00 in tithing and who declared that it was impossible for him in his lifetime to repay what Mormornism had done for him. Mormornism, continued President Harris, has made many of the Mexican people intelligent, industrious, and temperate inasmuch as foreign I Mens Work shoes jj top Sizes 6 to 1 Extra Special S $2.75 S a B a a . a m ! missionaries are not allowed to labor SCILM FLING AO LONGER CHAMP in Mexico, the local people have taken Max Schmelling is no longer worlds champion heavy weight boxer.
