Former School Leader Dies At Local Hospital Funeral services were held in Tremonton Second Ward Monday at 11 am for John William Smith 87 who died Friday afternoon at the Valley Hospital after a two week’s illness Mr Smith was born Nov 27 1867 in Draper a son of Lauritz and Hannah Jensen Smith He was reared in Draper and married Elida Hansen August 24 1888 in Loran Temnle She died in September 1930 He married Elizabeth Deakin in 1935 and she died in 1938 He served as superintendent of Salt Lake City schools from 1905 to 1909 He moved to Treman-tein 1910 and operated a farm in Box Elder County He is survived by one son Andrew two Roy daughters Mrs Edna Carroll and Vivian Smith Salt Lake City 11 grandchildren and 18 also two brothers and four sisters E including Clarence Smith of
