ever slowly - infringing upon our Constitutional and God given rights I call this "cancer" our government under the names of the FTC and FDA They are waging havoc nght now upon certain and other nutritional supplements They have companies that are selling herbal had no complaints from consumers about these herbal nutritional supplements that am aware of However they are saying that such supplements are not safe If this is the case then they may as well say that eating things like dried up and powdered pineapple kiwi papaya and figs are not safe Because the from natural foods supplements that personally have been taking are derived such as these Also from w hat understand they are try ing to say that if a person claims that something is a "cure" or "remedy" for an ailment then it is a drug and if it is a drug it must be approved by the FDA and FTC That is like saying that water is a drug because water is a "cure" or "remedy" for thirst or dehydration I do not want to see these companies selling herbal supplements lose this battle They have a Constitutional right to sell food and we have a Constitutional right to choose what foods we eaL personally do not believe that the FDA and the FTC are concerned with the health of Americans In fact believe that the only thing they care about is making money believe that it is the "big pharma" companies whining about Americans turning to natural foods and supplements to take care of their health concerns thai has turned the FTC and FDA against these supplemental companies If the FDA and FTC are so concerned w ith the health of Americans why have they sanctioned the use of such harmful products such as: Tobacco FenFen and Vioxx just to name a few? Another example of them infringing on people's Constitutional rights to choose is how they are coercing teenage girls to get a vaccine to supposedly prevent cervical cancer If this vaccine really does work w ithout detrimental side effects - then it may be a great vaccine indeed But it should be an individual's right to choose whether or not to get it I have heard that if the teenage girls don't get this vaccine they will not be allowed to go to public school If this is true then this is an act of forcing someone to do something against their will sounds like a terrorist act to me And since when is cervical cancer a communicable disease? And what vote of the people has decided this is soooo vitally necessary? can see why there was a need for a small pox vaccine back in the day but see no mandatory need for this vaccine I am WTiting this in hopes that the community will realize what is going on and that if they feel as do: that our Constitutional rights are being destroyed by government bureaucrats then we need to stand up and let our voices be beard feel our government in an outcry against such evil manipulation doesn't think that Americans are smart enough to make w ise choices believe that Americans are smarter than our government gives them credit However if we do not stand up for our Constitutional rights and call our Congressmen and Senators and tell them not to support such government infringements upon our rights then may have to believe that perhaps Americans aren’t wise enough to make decisions We are United Stales Citizens of America We are supposed to be the voice and vote of government in control of ourselves Our leaders may not be listening But if they are listening and we are not letting our voices be beard then we have no right to complain when things do not go as we the people would have liked them to go W E MUST LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD! Because the taxpayers have a right to know have a need to know and want to know that's why The argument is as simple as that Sure a school district a city a county a utility district or a slate government can post legal notices online at little or no cost But so what9 If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear does it make a sound? If a notice gets posted on an obscure Web site and taxpayers don’t think to look at the site does the notice really matter? Nope That’s why newspaper notice is important The difference between governmental or postings and newspaper postings is very simple It comes down to whether a reader — ie a taxpayer — has a reasonable opportunity to see the notice or not If the notice is for it one that the reader must search online chances are won’t be seen by very many of us who eventually pay the bills It’s a simple readership issue — or in a traffic issue is the the nut our That of matter If government is based on transparency — and we like to think it is despite all the open records and open meetings battles we fight every day — then our government’s actions need to be published in the most accessible form possible The reality is that the most visible endurable medium is still the printed newspaper along with its associated Web products Most newspaper Web sites are the stars of the online market in their respective communities Almost w ithout exception newspaper Web sites have more traffic than any other local or regional sites Any “notice” that is posted independently online by a governmental entity or a vetdor is likely to be read only by those w ho have a vested interest and are searching for notices of that sort A published newspaper notice on the other hand is right there in black and w hite for anyone who reads the classified ads and in most cases online as well Obviously legal notices are a source of revenue for newspapers But generally they’re not our bread and butter Most newspapers give the lowest rate available for these notices and we’re happy to do so — not only because we make a little bit of money off the notices but because they’ re an important part of the public record And the public record is what newspapers protect and preserve every day every week every month and every year To relegate public notice to online services only would be a severe detriment to the people’s right — indeed the people's demand — to know what our government is up to That is why we must continue to fight to maintain printed public notices After all information is power and power determines the direction of our republic To weaken that is to weaken our control over the government that we empower DELTA COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER FILLMORE COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER Intermountain Health Care Facilities |
