Utah State Parks and Recreation which included the ATV bridge on north first west in Fillmore and the ATV signs National 4-- Council Awards Grants to Millard County Extension H 4-- H National Council has awarded Millard County Extension East grants totally nearly $3500 Teen Council received Millard $1700 The East Millard County Teen Council will work with the Screamin’ Eagle Raceway staff and local nursery to plant 100 trees around the new raceway In conjunction with the tree planting teens and Millard County Extension staff will host an Arbor Games Day event for local youth and activities about trees and forestry will be part of the activity Teen Council was The Delta awarded $1750 (see picture below) The Delta Teen Council will work with area volunteers to purchase and plant trees for the Care Centerand Elderberry Gardens for senior citizens Part of the project is a healing garden Having famil- Mas change” u V She expressed her thanks to everyone for their support of this organization A special thank you to all for participating in the evening and especially to Karma Bailey for the beautiful table decorations iar trees around for the seniors will make them feel comforted and safe Research has shown that gardens and horticultural activities have a positive effect on dementia and can help seniors feel better In addition to learning to plant trees youth will have the opportunity to spend time with the Care Center residents in the newly built gardens They will learn the value of spendThe ing time with the elderly National Council Youth in Tree ActionCommunity Ranting Grant is funded by Deft Inc The mission of National Council is “to advance the youth development movement building a world in which youth and adults learn grow and -- work together as catalysts for positive ( throughout the county The yearly tradition of choosing the Sweethearts of the Sand Rock RidgeRiders saw this award given for 2004 to Kathy and Roy Evans of Spanish Fork These two have been a great asset as guides on some of the club’s rides Other awards were also given to deserving riders Ross Melville and Barbara Warner were given a garbage bag full of pop cans to tie on their car bumper for their recently announced wedding Teny Stanworth was named the Mud Queen for 2004 and Ron Bean Steve Fillmore and Sherry Shepard received although not sought after awards The recipients of the Evel Knieval Traveling Trophy (those having ATV accidents) were recognized and given bandaids to put in their ATV’s Sherry Shepard was also presented a beautiful clock with the club's thank you for her three and a half years of service as the club’s first president That’s only 28 weeks to find the career of your dreams color your hair and get back into those size 5 Lawman Jeans!
