The answer for me is simple I like being a citizen of these United States I like having freedoms that allow me to vote to practice my religion to speak out against government and not get shot for doing so I like to travel without getting permission from anyone to cross county I like lines or state being a citizen in the greatest country on earth How does this country stay the best? By each of us being involved in our government by actively questioning our policies and our policy makers by participating in the process If the primary election held on June 22 2004 was the final vote voters in Millard County would have elected a county commissioner (one who will stand for us our families and our future) with voter turnout Ten only about 10 percent is not enough! Hopefully my candidacy will cause more interest and dialogue more involvement by the voters Freedom Is not free if we don’t become part of the process we won’t be able to recognize our democracy It is already showing the signs of apathy Of course I want you to vote for me I hope you wiD make the effort to write me in But more than that want you to show up to vote to participate in he process for which many have given their lives and loved ones Show up and be counted I feel qualified as a candidate having been a Millard County resident for all but 5 years of my life (those years spent gaining a degree in Agricultural Education) Upon receipt of that Continued on page 8 J -t- |
