Show ryinljjTpW MUlard County Chronicle Progress April 19 23Q1 Paat 7 Delta High School Counseling Center Update Pennies for Armenia Our “character counts” theme for the month of April is “Caring” To show that we care for others less fortunate than us we’ve been collecting pennies for “Armenia” The students bring in pennies and put them into the jars in the office The pennies will be used to buy items for some Armenian orphan children All of the jars are getting quite full It’s been great to see the outpouring of love from the students at DSE On Tucs Apr 10 Mr Wankier from Delta High brought the Bone Voce Choir to perform for the students Mr Wankicr used to sing with the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir and this Summer the Symphonic Choir is going on a humanitarian project trip to Armenia that will help countless numbers of needy people They will be delivering the items bought w ith the money donated by students of DSE for the orphan children in Armenia The theme for the Symphonic Choir's tour is “Music Mercy and Love This project has really made our students aware of how wonderful we have it here in the U S A Unexpected Visitor On Wed Apr during time DSE students had surprise visit from none other than the “Easter Bunny" He was tall and white had a big grin and carried treats for all of the students It was a nice suiprisc one which students wouldn't mind having more of lunch a Debra Fullmer and Arianna Aleman tutors for Fillmore Elementary Tutors Fillmore Middle School eighth grade students enjoy being part of a teacher assistant the school Each student has the opportunity of going into a classroom the school or at the elementary school for minutes a day and assisting the teacher in a variety of ways Teachers at each school choose from a list of possible TA’s to come into their classroom and do work that enables them to have more time to spend a A include correcting papers helping a with their students Some of the duties of T student who is struggling with a concept helping with bulletin boards or other classroom decorations and many others The students are able to T A for two terms taking P E classes the other two terms of the year This gives a large number of students 3 years ago has been highly successful Teacher appreciate ihe help and students enjoy a new experience (TA) program at at by Thomas Doughty of the United Utah Valley State College is offering a great learning opportunity for adults w ho would like to attend a college class at their local high school this summer The 3 credit hour Psychology class (PS Y 0 0) is offered in the Distance Education room at Delta Technical Center This class fills general education Behavioral Science requirements for most colleges Because of the interactive broadcast format the class has grown in popularity andmany high school students and adults have attended in the same classroom Class will be held 6:55 7:55 am Mon- -
