Between the splatters from the saw that cut out the cement all the dust from sanding and gobs of wall mud thither and yon hav e a major mess on my hands This just might be a good time to consider what we really need and what we can live w ithout That goes for all the drawers we just took out of the cupboards and stacked in a corner It's such a dilemma to try and figure out w hich bits of paper might need for story hour or what 1940 book a patron might request (Just ask my help - it drives them crazy!) Book group was a hit last week Attendees were razzled and dazzled by the discussion leader Sharon Swenson I was called out of tow n and wasn't able to tend but heard through the "group" vine that all went well A number of high schoolers attended which is always an added attraction I have been chasing the UPS driver all over town this week to see if he has the next book selection in his but have come up short I'll let you know when they arrive At the library we hear all the time "I have never checked that book out!" (I might mention that we have a tendency to turn a deaf ear when those words are tered) We suggest that the patron continues to look while we do the same at the library Let me give you an example we have this patron and since March has professed that a book on her card was a mistake Last Monday while this patron was doing a little spring cleaning in the fall what did she come across as she removed a drawer from her night stand? The book in question It doesn't always work that way We have been known to find books on the shelf that didn't get checked in But once a patron utters those words "I have never checked that book out!" they 're jinxed Keep those pages turning! - 25 OFF ANY HALLOWEEN ITEM Oc- tcps Trent Alexander Talbot Celebrates his one ear birthday October 30 1999 His parents Travis Brooke Talbot Salt Lake City grandparents Arnold & Leslie Talbot Draper Leonard & Barbara' Maddox South Jordan and Emma Talbot Oak Wish him a happy birthday City OFZN DOUSE Q geve &oue 6Arrv S&wice Duy her first Parents Merlin & Mandv Lnnis of lovd & DeAnna Delta Grandparents hav ne of Delta Billy K Scharlott Lnnis of Tooele along ith many aunts uncles cousins friends and 2 came to celebrate mm: We think is the neatest thing Amber's turning "sweet 6" October 30th is the date day long we'll celebrate She's reached the age to date drive Dad mom hope their sanities survive when she gets behind the wheel buckle your belts not to squeal cause when she's driving you must beware she'll turn your hair gray and give your heart a scare Really though she is quite great and lucky are the boys she chooses to date When her friendship she gives to you she'll cherish be loyal and true She is so special from above our precious Amber we chensh love 1055 South 500 West Delta M She took ij our Nov 4 ±V I are av at the home Moving their elderly loved ones from their home is difficult for family or care takers However they must consider the safety and well being of that person and make their decision based on that information The resident usually adjusts to the situation much quicker than the family Pace said "1 can look any one straight in the ey e and promise their loved one will not only get the best care right here but their qualTheir ity of life will improv e dramatically loved one will be loving life and that's what it is all about' said Pace RRCI available Like Boston New Jersey had a "tea party" during the mounting friction between the colonies and Great Britain At Greenwich near Delaware Bay men in Indian costumes burned a shipload of tea from England in 1774 1 Heather Ann and HoiheKaye Fowles Heather Ann and llollie Kaye owles let 28 will celebrate their first birthday Lisa They are the daughters of Rick Fowles of Deseret A big party is planned for them heir brother sister grandparbe will and ents aunts uncles cousins there to help them open their presents and eat their cake c and canes J Mallory Ennis nnis turned one ear on We can't believe how IW grow ing up on her birthday and rather 864-261- -- she visits the facility for perms and hairMost of the male residents have had ie cut their hair for I "- James Moody Hi My name is Tye James Moody birthday is Oct 27 1999 My par& Denise my brother is are Darren ents Casey Moody my sisters are Brittany & Charlie Thomas and my grandparents are Doug & Jacquie Turner Chuck & Connie Sledge and Elaine Moody am so excited to finally be" 1" my r or - Pfc Joshua M Crawford Marine Pfc Joshua M Crawford son of Jeanine R Crowe in Delta Utah cently completed the Motor Vehicle Operator Course at Marine Corps Detachment Fort Leonard Wood Mo Crawford acquired the specialty skills and technical ability necessary to operate velight and medium hicles during various field and convoy operations Crawford spend more than 1800 hours of classroom instruction and practical application learning how to drive designated courses on and off road He also conducted vehicle recoveries and spections simulated driving vehicles under blackout conditions and learned how to prepare operator maintenance and cident forms The 1999 graduate of Delta High School joined the Marine Corps in February 999 Veterans The Service Officer from the American Legion Salt Lake City will be in your area to assist you in understanding and applying for VA benefits including compensation pension hospitalization education and other benefits This is a free service and veterans need not be a member of the American Legion to receive assistance The Service Officer will be at the Delta Employment Center on Thurs Nov 18 from 11 12 Noon Please bring the following documents so that we may better serve you: DD Form 2 4 marriagedivorce papers birthadoptiondeath certificates children's social security numbers |
