appeared on Tuesday where he was releajed by Judge Hare I ope and the juvenile were both charged with Class B misd possession of dru paraphernalia 1:00 p m Matthew Gilbert Mccaddon Iu Sandy V f was extradited from Missoula Montana by Sgt Ross Johnson who pilots the MCS( plane Mccaddon is being held on two no bail warrants pending appearance in District Court He is on probation for different drug arrests in IWX 8 40pm 911 dispatch received reports ofa rollover accident at nip 54 southbound The driver homas I Mitchell 22 of Provo was not wearing a seatbelt and was He was then run over by Officer Kelly Key es Pearce w as appearing in 4 District Court on 3 counts of 3 degree felony child abuse Those arc new charges that were filed on a criminal summons obtained by Deputy Chuck Stewart relating to a September 19 !9W incident Pearce was being arraigned on those charges when the court went to recess for a short break Pearce was inters iewed and substance tested by AP&P during that break as she is still on probation from her involvement in felony drug and automobile homicide charges in 1997 At least one violation w as found and Officer Keyes added a probation iolation Pearce is still incarcerated 3:35 pm Kev in Scott Birrell 27 Roy UT was arrested by Sgt Jim Masner at mp 74 on Birrell was stopped for speeding 86 mph and a check sRowed his license is suspended He was charged into LMJC with Class B misd speeding and driving on suspension Birrell appeared and pled guilty and was released with a fine 7:10 pm Glen Nelson Jim Jr 23 Kanosh UT was arrested by Deputies Cletc Carter and Morris Burton at the Meadow Texaco Carter said that Jim's 1992 grey while driving on the frontage road near Meadow Caiter Chevy almost hit him performed field sobnety tests prior to arresting the subject for DUI Alcohol A records check showed 5 failure to appear warrants totaling over SI 1000 on charges including forgery intoxication theft and traffic iolations An inioxillicr test showed his blood alcohol was 155 at time of booking almost twice the 08 limit in Utah Bail was set at $ 3(H) in LMJC after he appears there he w ill be extradited by the other agencies 8 06 pm was arrested at mp 147 on by Deputy Clete Carter She was stopped for speeding 16 mph She appeared in EMJC and pled guilty to Class B misd reckless driving She was fined and released 1:20 pm Valerie Ann Kojsza 20 Scranton PA was arrested at the Cove Fort Chevron by Trooper Dean Shields She was charged with Class B misd underage consumption of alcohol Her friend Jacob Gregory Williams 23 McAuthur PA came to her appearance in EMJC He began disruptive in the courtroom after it was determined that he supplied Kojsza with the alcohol Judge Hare ordered him arrested by Sgt Forrest Roper He was charged into 4 District Court with Class A misd supply ing alcohol to a minor and Class C misd open container that had been issued on a citation earlier by Shields Bail was set at $2000 Saturday October 16 8:14 pm 91 dispatch at MCSO received report of a one vehicle rollover accident 2 miles west of the Intermountain Power Plant North of Delta Deputies Brett Nielson and Roger Young responded as well as the Delta Ambulance and fire rescue trucks Upon arrival deputies found the driver of the vehicle John Norman Abbott age 64 of 160 Sego Lily Drive Sandy UT dead at the scene Deputy Nielson said that the 1992 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Abbott was on the Brush Wellman Highway when the left rear tire blew out The blowout caused the pickup to veer into the oncoming traffic lane Abbott them overcorrected to the right causing the pickup to roll over twice side to side and tw ice end over end Abbott was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle and sustained massive trauma to the upper torso He was the only occupant and according to his wife was returning from the Baker Hot Springs in Juab County This was the second fatal accident that Deputies Young and Nielson have responded to this week They said it's tragic that both of the deaths this week could probably have been prevented if the occupants of the vehicles had w orn their seatbelts 8:51 pm Sonnit Allen 8
