Nielson and George Gershw in left school at 5 and went to work at Tin Pan Alley plunking out tunes for singers He was finally dis- - Vicki Judkins ask 'How Long Has ered and his career as launched le rotc music for the stage and for some mov ies before he died early Rescuers save men in mountains again Derin Phelps Approximately 7 members of the Fast Millard Sheriffs Posse spent about hours Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning searching for three men who hiked into the mountains above Fillmore to retrieve ATVs that became stuck Saturday night Blaine Hare Commander of the Fist Millard Sheriffs Posse said his crew was called out about 6 pm Tuesday The crew responded to the top of a mountain at Bear lollow The men Timothy Schroder of New York Irv Schroder of Fillmore and Enrique Salazar of Fillmore were at the Paiute TV A of Trail They w alked lop the up Monday night from Copcly's Canyon They spent the night there and then left with the ATVs Tuesday By The men became stuck again at Lone Pine They walked as far as they could The sheriff's posse drove a snow cat to Lone Pine and found the men about 5 am Wednesday The men staved in contact with the posse by cellular phone Seipio Ambulance took the men to Richfield Hospital where they were treated for hypothermia and released They were forced to leave the ATVs in the mountains because of a snowstorm that hit the area early this week The Fast Millard Sheriffs Posse was just on the mountain Sunday rescuing Timothy Schroder and his brother Michael after they became stuck on the same ATVs At the last minute one of the attendants was unable to accept her position "They're all really cute girls" said contest coordinator Flisa Siclson " Ihey hav e all my respect" The contest consisted of a personal iew modeling a two minute inters iew an impromptu speech and horsemanship During the personal interview the three judges ask each contestant questions about rodeos their horses or other pertinent subjects Contestants don't know what the questions w ill be before the inters iew Judges want to see how knowledgeable each contestant is on the sport of rodeo This is because the queen and her court must make public appearances and do dio television and newspaper interviews "We want a knowledgeable queen that can ride too" Nielson said Contestants wear cither a w estem dress or western suit during the modeling competition They model to music and are judged on their poise and how they carry themselves Judges also pay attention to how smoothly they walk and to their personality The inters iew portion is actually a two minute speech Nielson gave each contestant a topic two weeks prior to the contest This year's topic was "As the world progresses what is the future of rodeo?"
