Eighth grader Ricky Erickson of Delta He brought in 1587 cups with only 72 broken ones "My sister and Dad helped" said Ricky "but we pul them all in my name" Second place went to Rayette Jones with 883 cups Cindy Riding won third with 520 cups Altogether 5399 cups were brought in The contest ended Just before Christmas culminating a drive to pick up the trash in Della and the surrounding areas Several people noticed that the plastic Hart's cups were becoming a liuer problem Dave Wankier was among those who noticed He told Bethany Bacon that would be a great idea for her Sterling Scholar project if she had some son of contest to clean them up Bethany took this idea to Principal Bart Simmons and Vice- -
