about the same as last year Superintendent Kenneth Topham said A contract between the Millard Education Association and the district has not been signed yet Negotiations continue said registration went Topham smoothly Staff changes have been minor About 20 new teachers have been hired They attended session an orientation Monday August 21 at Delta South Elemen(Watch for a story about the tary new teachers in an upcoming issue) One administrative change of note was the realignment of school boundaries for Delta North and Delta South West Elcmentaries Hinckley students will now attend DNE rather than DSE as in the past six years Declining enrollment at DNE prompted the change The district will continue the Adult Community and Vocational EducaLast tion programs in the county 10 high school students took year college courses called enrollment classes" for a total of 437 credit hours "It’s not just limited to those with high scholastic aptitude” Topham said “It’s pretty well open for anyone who has an interest in it” Nine local adults got their high school diplomas last year The district’s integrated program is in it’s second year About 50 students were involved last year A came at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Rec District Board at the White Sage Park in Delta Friday August 18 Kimtro Construction was low bidder at $592500 Work should begin soon and conunue said last school year was accident free and he wants lo keep it that way “Safely is our number one priority in school transportation” he said The department has received a Triple A rating from the
