signs- -a special project just completed period art classes at Fillmore Middle School The advertisements on the signs is paid for by local businesses to help support Little League Baseball AH of the outstanding work to resource demonstrations Recently students conducted a study of French terms for various items of practical clothing as well as special regalia Students brought items of clothing for a concrete demonstration in their French class “A hands-olearning experience not only facilitates student skill acquisition Peterson receives honorable mention Millard High School students Casey PeteFwon and Kevin Wasden both received a first place at the Regional Reflections contest Casey’s entry was in literature and Kevin’s was in art Casey’s entry went on to be judged in the state's Reflection Contest Casey will receive an honorable mention certificate at a luncheon on Saturday Mas 13 1989 at 12 noon at the Wilkinson Center Ballroom at Brigham Young University On that morning Casey is invited to attend a special student workshop conducted by professionals in his perspective category They will give in depth personalized instruction to enhance the development of the students interests and talents and to further the purposes of the Reflections Program In a letter of congratulations from the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers Inc it stated “W'e are proud of you and your William and Madeleine Wilson is among the graduating class of 1989 at the United States Military Academy at West Point Graduation ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday May 24 at the Academy in New from Scipio is using this month to get ready for the Millard County Stock Show May 29 through June 2 Tyler is in the 5th grade at the Fillmore Middle School He is the son of Sandy and Victor Monroe For 7 years Tyler and his 3 brothers have been involved with the stock show Their club is called “The Beefy Brothers” Last year was Tyler’s first year showing for himself He received 1st place in the fitting and showmanship and placed a blue ribbon on his calf It is a lot of work to get ready for the show The calves have to be halter broke Tyler said he put a halter on his calf and lead it around behind the tractor This is how he breaks it to lead Before the sale they trim and shampoo the calf to make them look their very best Record books are kept to keep track of expenses weight gains time spent working with calves and equipment used This sounds like a lot of work? You’re right! But the pay offs are great When asked what Tyler liked about the stock show he exclaimed Ii’s fun to win “Everything!" something and exciting to put a large sum of money in the bank Tyler especially likes meeting new friends and vtsmng with everyone at the stock show This year Tyler has also signed up for other projects gardening and bike and farm safety We wish TyleT the best of luck on his this year! projects Thespians sparkle at DMS continued at Delta Middle School with Arts Festival activities April a combined 180 seventh and eighth grade students participating in drama dance music and art “Melodrama” a silent feature was performed by the students in one of the accompanying pictures Lynae Henke and Trystin Nickle played a piano duet at one of the special programs Rhonda Harrison and Sandra Houlihan chaired several features Chandra Chapman’s students were also involved in drama activities |
