The Greens have five children namely: Lori Jeffery Bradley Michael and Phillip W endy enjoys bung active She has worked as a cleaning lady a clerk a waitress a mom wife neighbor etc In her spare time Wendy enjoys painting pictures and houses sewing cooking and camping Trom her Kindergarten years at Delta Flementary (our very own school) Wendy remembers drinking milk from pint sired glass bottles and enjoying the crackers that were served along with the milk (Mr Bassett remembers the very same thing') Wendy ts enjoying her association with DNES staff members and is happy to work with them We assure her we are honored to work with her and wish President Green and the PTA Board much success in their luture endeavors Ve welcome Mrs yy pf 7:15 The staff student body and PTA of Delta North Elementary cordially invite the public to attend an Arts in F Ojxn House to be held in the DNES Media Center on Thursday January 19 1989 from 5 to 6 p m Student art woik will be displayed at the open house The art woik has been completed as pari of two art’s residenat our cies that have been school during the past two weeks Our students have been thrilled with the woik and companionship of Utah artists Bi uce Hucko and Bn Matheson Hucko in pinhole specializes and visual arts while photography Matheson works with papier mache fish sculptures Each of our students have had an opportunity to work with one of the two artists during their stay at our school he ait’s residencies are sponsored in part by the Delta North Elementary PTA the Utah Arts Council the National Endowment for the Arts man debate team won one round and Nathan Tenney almost had his bill passed said Paula “We weie disappointed” Nielson Catrina Oliver believes that he debate team would be able to do a better job if they had more members “W e can’t compete against 60 member debate teams” she said The debate team will travel to St Geoige this weekend lor another tournament DHS events MRS HELEN HERSLEFF 93 says she "wants to see those kids get to France" so she donated $23 An example of the finest public support Choir thanks public The DHS Acappella Choir and Parent Committee would like to publicthank those people and businesses that have willingly donated to the ranee Turid W’e would especially like to thank the Chronicle Progress for their willingness to give us free advertising to get our message out to the public and the Pizi Rick’s Restaurant House have donated free dinners as prizes for some of the events Dove’s worked with us in have and Thriftway the many supplies we have needed Also Thriftway’s Coke product sales netted $360 for the choir City Cafe and Rancher sold many Rifle Raffles and Plaza Theatre has offered Sat Matinees 1PP donated their recrea tional facilities for the New Years Dance and many businesses around town maintain Trance Lund “drop stands Delta t boxes” at their Sports sold many rifle tickets and phea sant badges plus sold the rifle to the Am Legion at He has been on the yearbook staff for three years and is currently the student body reporter Jason has been of the school plays and in many musicals during his years at Millard High School As a member ol the Academic Decathlon team for two years Jason won a silver medal last year in social studies at state competition and a bronze medal foi fine arts He organized a mock election this year for the Presidential race and is cuirently woi on a project to furnish each home room with an American flag Jason is serving as the senior class social manager and directed the senior assembly for senior ball She teaches the third grade and is affectionately known as Nielson Her hobbies ate painting ceramics cooking then eating jogging and other outdoor activities Mrs Nielson gtew up in Kay sv tile Utah and graduated from Davis High School She is also a graduate of Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in I lementary Education Carolyn became a teachei because she enjoys woikmg with children She says “I believe that children should be taught with a positive altitude Fvery child needs to be praised for what they can do at their individual levels ” A beautiful quilt will be the only fundraiser for Delta Middle School this year Delta Middle School PTA and faculty helped with the project “We need the cooperation of all the leaner school's patrons” said Dr Dalton principal I unds will be used for the purchase of an Apple II GS Professional Computer System which will complement the newly remodeled Skeem I Jody Ashman Spotlight on Sterling Scholars Millard High School’s English Sterling Scholar is Jody Ashman Jody is the editor of the yearbook this year and has a real love for journalism She has won several awards at a yeaibook wotkshop and is using the techniques she learned in putting out this years yearbook Jody played a lead in this vears school play the female version of The Odd Couple and has been a membet ol the M H S diama club for two years She was a member ol the Spanish club and served as secretary and she also is a member ol the Science Club Jody held several leadership positions including president ol the M H S chapter of the Nation Honor Society secretary of the senior class and the secretaiy of the J S A She enjoys wot king in the community and has served on the I illmore Youth Citv Council as reporter and historian Besides sei ving as a candy striper at the local hospital Jody also holds a job working at Pioneer Matket She recently attended Curls’ State at SUSC In school Jody tutors a sophomore nglish class and just recently completed teaching poetry to a class at the middle school She enjoys spending time with her family reading and writing She has won several writing awards in the American I egion Essay contests the county fair and the Reflections program Jody is the daughter of Joe and Arvadale Ashman of f illmore 1st Class Greg Roper 2nd Class Brett Cummings and Brandon Cummings Siar An Eagle Court of Honor was also held and Morgan Christensen and “Trail of the agle” was given by his father Dave Chrisensen His Eagle involved project constructing permanent dugout benches at the new fields in Fillmore Curtis' “Trail to Tagle” was presented by his scoutmaster Harvey Gates Curtis built a work bench in the Holden fire for his I agle project Dave and Kay Christensen parents of Morgan presented then son with the Robert Eagle badge Curtis' parents and Ralene Stevens presented him with his Eagle badge In return each a miniature badge on his pmned mother’s lapel and a tie tac was given to each father |
