Fillmore by Evelyn Mallet Fillmore was hit by another freak June 15 wind storm last Wednesday It damaged a small area in the 1988 north end of town uprooting two large 120 trees in Delbert Crapo’s property W 400 S One huge tree fell m his front yard causing no damage But a large locust tree fell across his fence which adjoins Vera Smith's yard The tree fell onio her electric line which goes into a conduit pipe on her roof and into her house The tree broke the line and toie out the conduit pipe leaving Mrs Smith without electricity or telephone service It also cracked the rocks in her fence and the tree’s outer branches hit her car scratching and denting it in two places in the rear and along one side Mrs Smith called 91 for help from She said Officer a neighbor’s phone Scott Corry from Delta but on duty that day in Fillmore responded to her call and was at the scene almost immediately He stayed for some time guarding the area so no one would come near and risk electrocution Wasden Edna Ivie Mary Georgia Bradfield and Gwen Monroe The DUP Scipio Round Valley Camp had a lovely trip Monday May 16 Nineteen daughters left Scipio at 9 am stopping in Fillmore to visit the Old State Capitol Museum Before leaving Angie Green and Helen County Officers met with them and installed new officers for the camp Florence Robins Captain with klea Memmott and Leah Quarnberg as ice Captains Retiring officers were Arlene Memmott Florence Robins and klea Memmott They drove through Clear Creek ( and visited the Fremont Indian State Park Then they drove to Richfield for dinner
